NAD83, Datums, and Geoids

Great video. explains alot. thanks for posting. is there an updated presentation that gives updates to the material relative to the latest versions of Access and TBC? also, does NAD83(conus) = NAD83(96) ?

NAD 83 (CONUS) was an identifier that has been perpetuated by the U.S. Defense Department (DMA, NIMA, NGA) in their datum transformations. It was never used by the National Geodetic Survey (NGS) who are responsible for NAD 83. It should be taken to mean NAD 83 (CONUS) = NAD 83 (1986). If performing transformations is an issue no one should ever use the NAD 83 (CONUS) that comes up in many GPS and GIS software packages - it can easily produce uncertainties in the range of 15 m (49 ft) at the 95% (2 sigma) confidence level. Use only the transformation tools provided by NGS such as NADCON, NCAT and/or HTDP
