When I first heard this song I was really young. Actually hadn’t even been in a relationship yet. I identified with it then. Now, nearly 20 years later, around the age Caws was when he wrote this, I’ve had bad breakups, felt deep distance in long relationships and have been through a lot. I identify with it EVEN MORE now. It’s not just about wanting to be in love, it’s about craving deep connection and acceptance while being in a place that has neither. And as we get older, we tend to value this more and more, whether or not we actually find it.

I remember first listening to this song on my dad's Ipod while on vacation. I was maybe 8 or 9 years old, and had a huge crush on a classmate. This song made me feel like I would never know what love felt like. It broke my 8-year-old heart that she didnt like me back. 20 years later, I wish I could go back in time and tell 8-year-old me that it would all work out. Though, I would give anything to listen to this song for the first time again.

What I love the most in this song is the correlation between the childish vote and being an adult. The lyrics are so simple that it feels like it's an innocent pure child singing discovering the world, he heard about love and is just curious to know what it is really about, what this beautiful magic thing that everyone talks about it!
