I live in a non-english speaking country. In chool we learn english. My english teacher sometimes turned on some lyrics videos. Once I suggested a song to sing. It was this song. And when we sang it for the first time I think I even felt how touched my classmates were. The teacher liked it and I think more than a half of my classmates too. We even sang it at our school event where students sing songs in english I'm glad that I discovered this song and showed it to my classmates. Thank you very much, Keane!

I'm getting old, and I need something to rely on So tell me when you're gonna let me in I'm getting tired, and I need somewhere to begin I came across a fallen tree I felt the branches of it looking at me Is this the place we used to love? Is this the place that I've been dreaming of? Oh, simple thing, where have you gone? I'm getting old, and I need something to rely on So tell me when you're gonna let me in I'm getting tired, and I need somewhere to begin And if you have a minute, why don't we go Talk about it somewhere only we know? My family got a cat when I was 7, he was four. We saw pictures of him before we adopted him, his big eyes made him look like such a little kitty. When we got him, he still looked like a big eyed little kitten, but he was a massive Bombay cat. His name was Sam. I'm 23 now, Sammy turned 20 just this summer. Tonight, me, my parents, and my three siblings had to have him put down because his kidneys completely failed. I can't believe I can't curl up with him on the couch tonight. I just want to go somewhere nice and comfy like we used to so that I can feel him purr and watch his cute little face lean into the scritches I give him. Nothing makes me feel that relaxed and happy, I can't believe that's gone now. I miss him so much. He was the sweetest cat I've ever known. He was kind of socially awkward around other cats, once we temporarily adopted a young barn cat, and when they were introduced, Sammy didn't seem to know what aggression was. The little guy hissing at him only seemed to make him curious, and all he did was give the lil guy a sniff. We didn't let them fight, and pretty soon we found out the barn cat had a life-long virus so we had to adopt him out to someone else. The closest to violence he ever got was playfully batting at people with his paws. Sometimes he'd bump his nose against mine like he was giving me a lil kiss.
@flip13256 күн бұрын
The coincidence is staggering, but my family’s first cat was a Siamese cat called Samantha Jane, but we called her Sam and Sammy. She, too, made it to 20 years of age. She took all my secrets with her; she had never blabbed a word. I couldn’t rely on people, but I could rely on her. I hope you’re getting through your grief. I will never forget Sammy, but the pain is less now. It’s different. It changed form eventually, and now I can cope. If you live right through the grief and your memories of your Sammy, you’ll get through yours too. And you’ll probably be better for it. 🖤

Right now, there are people all over the world who are just like you. They're either lonely, they're missing somebody, they're depressed, they're hurt, they're scarred from the past, they're having personal issues no one knows about, they have secrets you wouldn't believe. They wish, they dream and they hope. And right now, they are sitting there reading these words, and I'm writing this for you so you don't feel alone anymore. Always remember, don't be depressed about the past, don't worry about the future, and just focus on today. If today's not so great don't worry ! Tomorrow's a new chance. If you are reading this, be sure to share this around to make others to feel better. Have a beautiful day. :) :)

This song isn’t really a sad song tbh, this feels more like a song wrote because of memory. Our most valuable asset. We are wanting to get older and more mature. But when we stop to think for once we realize we took for granted the good times. It’s less of a sad thing but more a natural turning point to make every moment mean something because in the end, at any moment life could slip by and you won’t notice till it’s gone. So for those who read this whole thing… everyday you will see and experience something new, enjoy the new things because you won’t want to miss it.

I'm gettin' old, and I need something to rely on So, tell me when you're gonna let me in I'm gettin' tired, and I need somewhere to begin I came across a fallen tree I felt the branches of it looking at me Is this the place we used to love? Is this the place that I've been dreaming of? Oh, simple thing, where have you gone? I'm gettin' old, and I need something to rely on So, tell me when you're gonna let me in I'm gettin' tired, and I need somewhere to begin And if you have a minute, why don't we go Talk about it somewhere only we know? @@SoFarAlongYT i feel for you regarding the loss of your father. I'm just saying this. we pick up things from our parents as we grow up being there offspring. some of those things are good but some things can also be bad. when someone listens to a song over and over it just doesn't always mean they like the song. it can sometimes mean they are suffering in silence with poor mental health so perhaps listening to the same song over and over because your father did it doesn't mean its a good thing for you to do yourself. i mean it took me along time, years in fact to realise i had picked up some of the bad ways my mother has and later in my life i stopped doing them because i realised they where the negative aspects of my mothers personality that i had leant from her subconsciously in my early years. without realising it we pick up our parents ways but some of there ways are not always good ones to follow. that is something we should watch out for in our own lives.

@@search4truth104 My answer is that it has the Holy Spirit inspiring in it and residing in it, as the Spirit has long been the inspirer of artistic endeavour - and is particularly good at making joy out of sadness. Why? Because those are different aspects of love (mercy and forgiveness are also in there), and the Spirit is love sent by the Father and offering the words of the Son. And he knows how to reach us in modern times in these kinds of ways...

This song makes me cry every damn time. I miss my childhood so much. When i was 13 we moved to a big city where the trees grow in cement flowerbeds. I love this city, i do. There are so many new things i can do living here. But i really miss the simplicity of the old place. Everyone knew each other. Me and my friend used to spend every summer together in the countryside. Every day was full of fun things. I used to grow plants from a seed to harvest. I've seen how tadpoles turn into frogs - every stage. Lizards, hedgehogs, moles. The fresh air, the fresh vegetables, the healthy and delicious food. I miss all this so much. Once in a while i would dream about that place, those times and people. The next morning i would tell it to my grandma and we would talk about that time for hours remembering how great it was to live like this. Now everyone including myself is so busy every day. And i am busy and tired enough not to remember about the wonderful past. But when i see or hear something like this song i get overwhelmed and start crying because this was the great, the best time of my life. I was truly happy. I hope someday I'll get this happy again.

I am grateful for the sun, the water I am drinking, and an apple that I just ate. Life is beautiful. Life is good. Life is a blessing if You know How to Enjoy Simple Things. ❤️❤️❤️

This song held me up while caregiving for my late wife during her treatments for ovarian cancer.it fit us perfectly. “Oh simple thing, where have you gone…” describes how cancer complicates life. All we wanted to do was exist again without it hanging over us. She made it eight years with bravery and determination. I’ve found love again but remain eternally grateful for the love she used to survive so long.

LYRICS I walked across an empty land I knew the pathway like the back of my hand I felt the earth beneath my feet Sat by the river and it made me complete Oh, simple thing, where have you gone? I'm gettin' old, and I need something to rely on So, tell me when you're gonna let me in I'm gettin' tired, and I need somewhere to begin I came across a fallen tree I felt the branches of it looking at me Is this the place we used to love? Is this the place that I've been dreaming of? Oh, simple thing, where have you gone? I'm gettin' old, and I need something to rely on So, tell me when you're gonna let me in I'm gettin' tired, and I need somewhere to begin And if you have a minute, why don't we go Talk about it somewhere only we know? This could be the end of everything So, why don't we go Somewhere only we know? Somewhere only we know Oh, simple thing, where have you gone? I'm getting old, and I need something to rely on So, tell me when you're gonna let me in I'm getting tired, and I need somewhere to begin And if you have a minute, why don't we go Talk about it somewhere only we know? This could be the end of everything So, why don't we go? So, why don't we go? Ooh, hey, hey Oh-oh-oh This could be the end of everything So, why don't we go somewhere only we know?
