Nadar tells us about his car a 2005 Mercedes Benz CLK500, why he bought it, and what his future plans are. Nadar originally had hi sights set on a Hyundai Genesis 3.8. Although the Genesis is a great car, we think he made the right choice going with the Benz V8! Join us as we take a drive with him and hear the V8 rumble the whole way.

ive had mine 16 years its been a great car please change the trans fluid every 40 k mikes with oem fluid and oil change every 5k miles it will last you a long time

That is a long ownership. I've heard these are fairly reliable.

Do these models have to have oil changes at Mercedes dealerships or can they have oil changes done at jiffy lube type of places? Might be interesting in a 2004 clk 500 v8.

Sadly this car was crashed into by someone running a red light and has been totaled since January of 2019. RIP to my beautiful CLK, I miss it so much. :(

Nadar - that's a bummer man - your CLK 500 will be missed! I hope you made it out unscathed - cars are replaceable. Anyway, what did you get to replace the Benz?

There's something about black CLK's and I love all the little details you changed, they really make the car stand out and look exotic. I have a 2003 CLK500 in brilliant silver that is bone stock. I'm gonna be trying to get it to look similar to yours. Then maybe I'll look for a CLK 55 AMG in black :))

Bought my black CLK August 2018, Mine is the 3.0 v6 diesel to give me some economy (UK) But i am on the lookout for a good 5.0 & i have some plans for that car, i drive with all the windows down whenever the weather here will let me. Good video by the way.

I think the CLK320 CDI is the best one to have. I've got a CLK320 petrol because they never brought the diesels to my country. The diesel has power and economy, it just doesn't have the petrol exhaust sound...

I HAve an AUTOTEL scanner that i use for check engine there are a few things to remember only use OEM stuff for sensors , brake replacement and belts etc yes very very dependable.

I know this is a old video but the reason why you are getting such bad mileage is that you changed the proper back pressure on the motor. You put on straight pipes with a X pipe. These motors are tuned to run and get good gas mileage. I have a CLK500 2005. I purchase it brand new off the show room floor. I get 20 & 27 miles per gallon. Do you still have your CLK500?

Agree with sound intoxication versus sound insulation for a first car!. Enjoyable video...your preferred first-option (not sure if I heard that right--did u say Hyundai or something?) failed to pan out which led you to buy this Benz V8--a turn of fate that most likely will benefit your entire driving future :-)

Gentry Smith That one is less reliable. The best are clk 240 and the clk 500.

the car is nice but imho the magic of mercedes is in its sound insulation and smooth ride . The owner of this one eliminated both qualities.

+TheAndrey I agree with you but the car rode very nicely (Think AMG suspension). The exhaust is loud but if I was young and had a V8 RWD car, I would probably do the same!

The sound inside is not loud at all, because of the great insulation. It rides even better than it did with the stock suspension. It was bouncing everywhere. My suspension fixed it.

+TheAndrey i agree.. save the loud noise for a hot rod mustang or charger.. the clk has no reason to boast sound as means of speed intimidation. the name speaks for itself.. it has nothing to prove.. aside from the loud noise, the car is very nice..
