Two nonrestrictive appositives at the end of a sentence may absolutely be separated by a comma, and this is the general rule, though a dash may be used. I did it again here in the first sentence. The infinitive phrases in question are not independent clauses. There are no conjuctive adverbs. There are no items in series where those items contain commas. While some might opt for a semicolon as an element of personal style, a semicolon is not required punctuation in the sentence, and one might also represent its use here is incorrect. Why must so many comments in YT turn into unrelated debates initiated by self-appointed lunch ladies and hall monitors of punctuation, grammar, and style? Such indulgences are largely peripheral, off-topic, and tangential. They add no value to the discussion and only detract.

what does one thing have to do with the other? at 6 she had a coach making her do gymnastics. and 10 the Karolys spotted her and made her their mission. they pushed her harder than any little girl would choose - and i doubt whether she had a choice. i bet your parents are OKAY with you living at home as long as you're doing something with your life - something that YOU feel passionate about or called to or something that you believe in or something that doesn't make you feel like you are just taking up space on this earth that could be better served by someone else. nadia had the weight of a country on her back and shoulders. if you live in the modern age - all you have is your own dreams and your own drive on yours. You only get one life - so what are YOU going to do with it? Nothing wrong with being home at 22. What's wrong is if you are doing nothing with your life at 22 or any other age. At 22 - the world is STILL your oyster. Whatever you want to do - you better start doing it, because tomorrow you will be 52 and you'll wonder what you did with those 30 years in between and WISH you had them to do all over again. So do it NOW - while you have the youth, the strength, the mind, the desire, and the chance to stack up enough dominoes in your favor so that when they finally fall - you will be able to appreciate, enjoy, and share the benefits!

The family name being of greater importance than one’s individual name, I suppose. The reason I know this is I am bi-racial - born in the US, raised here - my father an American and my mother Korean. I have been exposed to both Western and Eastern cultures for my entire life. I am now 57. I have always loved Nadia!!! I was just about to turn 12 in 1976; I was TRANSFIXED by her ever since I first saw her. It is wonderful seeing all this footage again! So many lovely memories. Nadia, you were my first ever hero in life. I was eight at the time. There was no TV then in my part of the world, but there were newspapers with such beautiful commentary and pictures of your performances. I devoured every word written about you and raved about you at school. After all these years, it’s a treat to watch you and hear you.❤️❤️❤️

I remember watching Olga Korbut in the 72 games and being blown away by her brilliance, thinking we'd seen the pinnacle of gymnastic greatness. Four years later, along came Nadia to take things to the absolute highest level. Pure brilliance. And what a beautiful woman.

So many young child actors who become super famous early in life loose their way and fall from grace. This young lady became very famous like no one else , yet she had the character and fortitude to remain balanced. A class act way back then , a class act now. Much respect.
@Ninitschga Жыл бұрын
I think there is a particular kind of fame that ruins people more like others. As a gymnast you are not nearly as exposed to sexualization as child actors are. And then especially in the 90s and early 2000s through the rise of the internet - becoming world famous suddenly reached a new dimension. From my perspective famous children who ended up in drug addiction and psychosis are always a product of their surroundings.

That kind of immortal talent can't help but inspire all of the rest of us mere mortals to be the best we can be regardless of our field of endeavor. It just brings tears to the eyes to see this and remember when it happened 41 years ago, knowing that no one has come close to this level of greatness since then.

The same with John Curry, figure skater, (interesting enough, he also won Olympics in '76). He didn't do quads, nor 3A, but he was gorgeous, ballet on ice. We should not compare different times.
