At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, Nadia Comăneci, at the age of 14, became the first gymnast in history to score a perfect 10.0 on the uneven bars, marking the first instance of a perfect 10 in gymnastics. Due to scoring limitations of the time, her score was displayed as 1.00 on the scoreboard, as it couldn't represent double-digit scores. Nadia changed my favourite hobby to doing gymnastics for fun with my friends. This was the first Olympics that we got extensive daily coverage in North America, more than the usual 2-4 hours. With time zones it's still nice when events happen on this side of the world. Gymnastics has remained my favourite sport to watch EVER! I sure miss the uneven bars being closer together because they can no longer do some of my favourite moves since they were put far apart, darn it. Bela then defected to the US and he and Marta turned the American team into a powerhouse in no time! (Too bad they hadn't come to Canada instead, haha.) My parents were both Germans born in Romania so there was always much more to Nadia's story to Us than just gymnastics. I remember numerous details of her life and also recall her surprise reunion with Bela several years later. I'm happy she's been doing well and Bart was always such a cutie. Keep well!

Toda época tiene sus propios estándares por razones obvias. Es imposible "comparar" a un piloto aviador acróbata de la primera guerra mundial a otro contemporáneo de la guerra del golfo.
