“Galho reminds me of a story my dad used to tell from his childhood. He shared how they hardly had anything to eat, so my grandmother would make galho with just rice and vegetable leaves to ensure everyone had something to eat and wouldn’t starve. Since the rice wasn’t enough for everyone, she always found a way to stretch it. Despite the food scarcity, my dad said it was the tastiest meal they had.”
