so you imply in this video that Nagase's 30 years of age is old, and in a previous video you said 26 years is young, so what do you think the prime age for judo is?
@JudoHighlights20157 ай бұрын
I think I said ‘young’ as in ‘still young’. My experience is 21-28 are your prime years and then it’s downhill. Quicker for some. Most Japanese retire at 22 as they join the workforce and have no way to maintain peak condition. It’s very very rare to see people over 30 doing well in judo.

Drapeau will beat Nagase the next time they meet, he is a nemesis. Casse now has Nagase's number too, too bad he didn't fight in this tournament.

Nagase is from Tsukuba. However, given that the Japanese tend to universally use 2-3 hour randori sessions it is likely more a Japanese thing in general.

I think Nagase might win a bronze medal at Paris but I don't see him winning gold/silver. It's probably gonna be Tato vs Lee at the finals for gold. Nagase is still a top 10 player at 81kg but he's clearly past his prime and Tato/Lee seem to be a step ahead of everyone else at 81kg right now.
