Once again you get a great example of how to be a good composer and improviser - wich is finding good tools on great compositions and making them your own to use in a variety of contexts. Loved the technical practice breakdown too - quick and clear on how you fix some commom mistakes with this kind of formation, probably. Missed you being on the outside and being more extroverted with your delightful jokes, tho. Bobby is cute as always. Thank you for the great content!!

I love this. Now I have something to work on. It's sometimes hard to follow your fingers, but hey ... now I have something to develop my ears too :-).So ... no complaint ;-) With pausing and slow down the speed I will figure it out. One Question: Your Chopin Book: Is it a printed Version? I would love to have it printed out, but I'm not sure, if the shipping to Germany is to complicated and expensice.Or is it a E-book (PDF)?

I love that! But why so much pedal starting around 0:49 and then again at 0:59, and so forth? I find that distracting. It makes it harder to hear the notes crisply, I mean obviously legato is not staccato, but is there a particular purpose for using the pedal? (I apologize if this is a dumb or obnoxious comment. I enjoy your videos.)
@NahreSol6 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I personally liked the sound and contrast with the pedal, that's all :)

I see Bobby's been practicing too. Nahre, great interview with Jeff Schneider. Q: Do you ever practice a tricky passage too fast and then tidy it up afterwards? Or do you always try to play perfectly clean? It's a debate in guitar circles: some say always start slowly and perfectly otherwise it's practicing mistakes. Others argue that you can't learn speed by playing slow any more than you can learn to run by practicing walking, because they're different mechanics. Any thoughts?
@NahreSol6 жыл бұрын
Yes! Haha Bobby 😂 To answer your question -- there are ways to practice fast if not faster than your final tempo, without resorting to so much "sloppy" practicing. I think the key is to do it in short bursts, even from note to note (dotted rhythm practice achieves this) or with short phrases. That being said, there's no need to be overly concerned about the science of all this, as long as in general you are practicing more on the offensive, cleaner side, I consider it successful practicing. Hope that helps!
@robertbrown17786 жыл бұрын
Yes, you mentioned that in the Jeff Schneider interview and I think that makes sense for piano particularly. Probably in the case of guitar "picking" technique, it's that players often have a very different technique to play fast as opposed to slow, so taking a 'run' at it maybe gives some clues as to what their fast technique might look like. Thanks for the answer.

I do not play piano ,this may be a dumb question. Why the index and thumb on the same note?
@NahreSol6 жыл бұрын
Because for the piece, you are required to use those two fingers back to back on the same note very fast. Playing the note with those two fingers simultaneously trains them to get used to being in that position
