In his day, yes. But comedy has changed & Billy's stuff is nowhere near as funny in todays world. And I'm from Glasgow & grew up watching everything Billy brought out as soon as it released. Watching them back now but they don't hit the same.

This is a brilliant and entertainment based use of cognitive programming. It's preparing you to hear what they want you to hear, even if you know differently you can't help hearing what they say. This is done for humour here, but imagine what else this method is being used for in broadcasts, political speeches, debates etc. repetition is another one to drill it into your head. People don't even realise it's being done.

The Mandela Effect is what you're thinking of. Named after Nelson Mendela when more people thought he died in the 1980s when infact he died in 2013. Other popular effects are Luke, I am your father. Jiffy peanut butter, Mickey Mouse wearing suspenders and the Monolopy guy having a monocle.

It was "the tour that didn't tour" because Michael Jackson was supposed to be playing at the O2 arena on that night. That is why Peter says, "He was supposed to be on here tonight."
@Dr_KAP5 ай бұрын
This unfortunately is a well perpetuated myth which has been explained on other reactions. He was meant to play at that arena but not that night. The reason he called it the tour that didn’t tour tour had nothing to do with Michael Jackson, the reason was because of the dates and originally restricting the tour to Manchester for family reasons. Jackson was scheduled to play the O2 July 2009 to March 2010 whilst Kay was late 2010 to early 11.

There is no comedian that nails everyday family life like he does, his observations hit everyone who remotely has a similar culture.

Peter Kay is a comedian from North West England who bases his comedy on very relatable observations of real life that people can recognise, share and laugh together. Eg. Weddings, dentists, old people, funerals.
