PLS HELP,‼️ When i try to do this with my airgun, i cure my diluted gel polish (with acetone or alcohol), it doesnt cure properly when i put it in the UV lamp. Meaning it smudges when i put on top Coat. Tips welcomed.

Can you show the whole air brush i.e. the pump section? Those guns are easy to get hold of but, most don’t come with a pump to attach the coil to. A link would help for U.K. techs.

Hey Kerry, i'm working my way through this course and have tried this out on my own nails. Iove the effect however after 24hrs the top coat is peeling off over the airbrush paint (starting at free edge) I'm using all same brand gel polish base/polish/no wipe top coat etc and still having issues 😩 Any tips? I'm wondering if I'm using too much airbrush paint. Frustrating!! I'm following your instructions to the letter. Help 😃

Hi marie, yes it could very well be too much paint. the air brush paint should be so highly pigmented so it can be very thin or just not quite dry enough any moisture still in it will be trapped between the layers and separate the top coat from the nail. Air spray only for a little longer. like with everything, some peoples life styles are different and as a tech I find myself heavier handed than some of my clients. Maybe paint the nails in the gel polish colour you require at the tip and airbrush the darker colour you want at the cuticle, thus eliminating the paint at the free edge. let us know how you get on xx kerry

Thank you for the video! Tell me, can you airbrush gel top coat as a topping? UV tempered nail top coat hardens to form a nice protective surface, but is usually too thick and not smooth to use on miniatures the regular way. If so, what can you use to thin it?

I love them Kerry, How do you manage not to cover the clients skin with the paint, or did this wipe off after? xx I have a mini airbrush gun that was bought as a gift from my husband as he knew I wanted to do the EN Airbrush course. I just haven't got round to doing it which is really frustrating for me as I want to continue to learn even though I am ill. I will get to do the course. xx

There is always a little paint that gets onto the surrounding skin of the client or on yourself but it wipes off so quickly and easily. After you've cured the top coat just use a little wipe off solution on a pad before you apply cuticle oil xx kerry

It will not last this way. You may have to use gel polish thinner to thin out gel polish colors and spray it like that and top coat them with any non wipe gel topcoat or shellac topcoat

I know this video is 2 years old, but i am hoping someone will see this question and let me know - can i use a regular gel polish top coat (not no wipe) on top of my airbrush designs? Hello Lynne, because I'm using it purely as a colour effect between the layers of Gelaze 'grey exec' and the new Gelaze 'no wipe' top coat, you don't need to worry about the varnish layer. We would love to see the colour combinations you come up with. xx kerry

Is there any special way to prep the nail before airbrushing because my airbrush paint seems to be bubbling and just sitting on the surface of the nail. I had applied a base coat and two coats of gel Polish and cured under the lamp. Thanks

Hi Ruth, The paint needs a dry matte surface so have you tried wiping the sticky residue layer of the gel polish off and buffing gently first. airbrush and then top coat again x kerry

@@sandrarodrigues9411 you mix some special thing with the gel i don't know what it's called i need to see and it makes the gel paint more watery somehow and it's very easy to clean, however i don't do my nails my mother is doing them and i need to ask her. :)

Try a matte top coat before you airbrush and make sure the paint is dry before top coat and make sure to undercap the nails

Yes Maya, you can ombre with acrylic instead if you wish but this client has a clear overlay over natural nails so we apply the colour with polish. This saves having to remove the coloured acrylic at each service to then redo in a different colour. kerry x

Essentialnails I think you may have misunderstood me. I was asking if you could use an acrylic based paint in the airbrush, or is airbrush paint already acrylic based. I just don't want to mess up my airbrush with the wrong paint.

sorry Maya, yes they are very different! You should only use airbrush paint. the airbrush paint is almost the consistency of water, specifically designed for fine spraying so its almost like a powder coating as it hits the surface. if you used a different type of paint, it wouldn't flow and it would block your Airbrush permenantly . x

You are failing to get the sides of the nail. That airbrush can make a line as thin as a piece of hair. I am a Master Airbrush Artist.
