This is sooo cool! Also just the biggest thanks for teaching me so much about nails - I used to do my nails all the time but ever since I became a crazy plant lady my nails have been too brittle to grow out. I've always been self conscious about how wide my nails are, but now that you've taught me how to do hybrid gel I can make them longer which makes my nails look way more balanced. I've even brought out my old nail art kits and I'm having so much fun! Thanks and lots of love from Sweden!

Well I love this look and the black and blue actually suit the look!! I do think the black gel polish was too runny and if a creme polish was used or a thicker consistency gel polish, it would have made your life a lot easier. Ya know that’s a good idea - The only thing that would make it harder is when you use your brush to remove product you’d have to drench it in nail polish remover or acetone and it will then destroy the nail polish underneath. So if you’re going to do it with nail polish it would be best to topcoat a clear in between. Before you add the layer that you’re going to remove and shape in the French design you’d have to topcoat with a clear gel and cure. Then you can remove your nail polish with acetone. But it Hass to be a quick swipe because acetone Dissolves gel

If you are having a hard time with nail biting (and financially can do so), talk to a local nailtech about doing an acrylic overlay. Make sure they use proper products and practice hygienic application and proper removal of product (sanitize files and tools between clients, file and soak products properly from nails). An acrylic overlay is a healthy nail safe way to strengthen and elongate your nails, with proper maintenance. I was a nail biter and I have soft, thin nails. My nail tech started with tips to give me length and by the time I soaked off for a new set a month later my nails were long enough to forgo the tips and use my natural nails as a base. I no longer bite my nails. The fact that they are reinforced deters me from biting them.

What would be the advantage of using tips over building with gel?
@NailCareerEducation Жыл бұрын
The only advantage that tips offer is the nail is already shaped because a person does not have the skills to do so. But if you have the skills to sculpt a nail, with acrylic or gel, I would use that almost every single time over a press on tip. So press on tips were designed for people who do not know how to apply nails skillfully. This is why they’ve become so popular. Even though it is a great shortcut, they are not the same Nail. So it’s a huge compromise, selecting a tip over a Sculpt nail. But if you don’t have the skills, it’s better than nothing.

Yeah that’s a great question opposite hand is very awkward. My best advice on that is to study the hand that you’re painting with in other words the hand that’s doing the art and holding the brush steady that and move the nail that your dominant hand is that can often work for especially filing whether it’s e-filing or hand filing it really works for. And if that doesn’t work your nondominant hand try to study your hand against the table top so that you’re moving against something as opposed to just holding it in the air- It really helps to study your hand for doing precision work
