When doing the gel before the base coat, do you add a primer like you would with acrylics? I was using 99% alcohol for a dehydrater and using a no lift primer for acrylic and uv gel nails.

Just an idea cause I noticed ur note take different color permanent markers and make a line from lid to jar. That way the colors tell you which lid...had to do mine that way...I'd be buying the wrong glitter refills...til I got to comparing them. It helps when you use 2 or 3 at a time!

The best technique to remove nail enhancement specially acrylic is to thin it out with your efile & before you soak it in 100% a stone it only take about 10 minutes to 12 mins , with hard gel sometimes some system is not removal by acetone only through efile . Some Hard gel is soak able though .

Right! Also I don’t understand why nail techs at nail salons prefer to rip them off by wedging something between the fake nail and your own or not trying to file them thin enough causing you to over soak your nails in acetone

I agree, improper removal can wreck your nails 😱😖. I have very thin nails and I've had some bad nail techs that have grinded my nails down to where there was hardly a nail left. 😫 Omg my hands would hurt so bad after getting them done! However I now do a dip nail at home and my hands don't hurt anymore. (I followed Suzie's tutorial on how to do it and it was super easy)

I had everything in my tote bag of my dipping sets with vibrant beautiful colors and all my tools, brushes, sanitizers, my new bright nail polishes, beautiful and fun decals, tropical colors, powders you name it, it's all gone. Someone swiped my bag. I collected it over time because I'm not rich lol. So now I sit and watch you do it all. I sent my mom your video and she's in her 70's. The reason why I love to do this is because of my mom. She inspires me with the arts and crafts. When I was 4 and 5, she put beautiful icecream cone decals on my nails. I absolutely loved the pastel and bright colors of the decals. Then the night before my first day of school, she put different ones on my nails. That was in Kindergarten. From my nails being done, it brought all the kids over to look at them. I was so scared of everything because It was my first time away from my bestest friend in the world, my mom. From all the kids who looked at my fingers, the last girl to look at them became my second bestfriend and form there on we grew up together. We were in the same class together from day one. Even now to this day. She has her family and I have mine but we still gab on the phone like school girls and laugh even though we are far apart. So, it just saddens me that I haven't the nail stuff now. It was a big tote bag full. Life is crazy at times. I do love your videos and my mom. I haven't seen my mom since covid.i always wanted to go and do her nails like she did mine. Now I really can't. .....Thank you for teaching me and making it easier for me to do. You're amazing ♡God Bless you and upir beautiful family🙏🏼

Its not just the removal that ruins your nails its the prep, a lot of "salons" will file the crap out of your natural nail with a course grit file to try to make the nails last longer, and then when the nails do come off your nails are paper thin and flaky. Prep and removal are what can screw up your natural nails.
@mommashawna7074 жыл бұрын
Stephanie Gale exactly! I was thinking the same thing watching her file her nail bed, that can’t be good for your nail. I am 50 years old and I love to know how you can get nails off without them being screwed up. Every time you need a new set or you break a nail they will file your nail bed again and at one point they will get paper thin. .
@L142sEnToSa4 жыл бұрын
filing the natural nail is a must for proper adhesion. The thing is that each area of nail should only be filed once. Properly applied, product should never ever lift. After prep, a thin layer of clear or pink gel/acrylic should be laid down, and then color, etc. When you go in for a fill, they should just file down to the thin layer of clear/pink, and use a course grit file to ONLY file new growth. So the same area is NOT filed over and over again with each application. Hard gel and acrylic are long-term enhancements that must be maintained. Clients must understand that. Now, this whole trend of gel polish and dip nails is a problem, because the entire enhancement is soaked off. There are two problems. 1. impatient nail techs or DIYers scraping the product off instead of waiting for it to soften. and 2. When going in for another service, all enhancement is removed, and so the ENTIRE nail bed is prepped once again. The same area ends up being filed time after time. Look at the area of nail that's right next to your cuticles. How long will that take to grow to the free edge? Probably 2-3 months? If you're going in for a gel polish/dip service once a fortnight, that's a LOT of prep and filing of the same area of nail as it grows out. Of course it'll be weak when it reaches the free edge.
@mommashawna7074 жыл бұрын
Clara Chan I have to say I am 50 years old and I have gotten my nails done for at least 25 years of those and you go in every two weeks to get your fill like clockwork but every few months you need new nails put on because they will all start falling off or look horrible. I have gone to very high price salons to just regular ones through the years and have never had them do anything different. Acrylics are long-term but they are not permanent. I also don’t know one single person that has ever had it done any different. If there’s some newfangled way that they are doing them I would love to see it. I am not one to argue and I am seriously not trying to argue, I’m just letting you know what I have had done my entire life not just by one salon.
@miekaandkadoe70424 жыл бұрын
Clara Chan yes filing the natural nail GENTLY with a soft grit file is needed, mostly it’s around the cuticle that needs to be done to remove dead skin. This can be done very gently with a round cuticle ball with an efile. I only file that area with my cuticle bit and never have issues with lifting. Filing the whole natural nail with a course file is NOT NEEDED at all as long as all oils and dead skin are removed. I’ve had my natural nails ruined by certain nail salons which is the reason I taught myself how to do them and I haven’t had any issues with paper thin messed up natural nails since. Filing the crap out of your natural nails is not needed for good adherence of the gel/acrylic ever.

I've heard that acid based primers can damage the nails on their own, but after watching all these nail beauty gurus on YT, I know my damage is caused entirely by improper removal of product.

Acid based primer is not good for your nails!

Cameraman had such a smooth voice. Hé is just as passionate about the nails as you are Suzie! You make a great couple.
