I even do the 15 sec, and rub it in as quickly as possible, this gives me the best results. And one nail at the time, so it is consistent throughout the whole set.

I've never used non-wipe top coats for chrome nails. They work perfectly with regular top coats, you just have to wipe the sticky layer off before applying the chrome powder.

I have noticed that chrome only works with very specific brands of top coat. I had to buy IBD INTENSE SEAL. Ever since I started using this top coat with chrome I don't have any issues. Cure completely. Burnish the chrome. And top with whatever top coat.

How do you prevent pitting? I get it when I top coat my regular gel polish whether I wipe away the dispersion layer or not. I use gel polish and top coat from the same brand

It can also be from a layer of residue on the previous coach before you apply the topcoat. That’s why I say be careful when it comes to alcohol. If you’re going to use it, it’s quite advantageous to clean it up, but make sure the alcohol dries completely before you put the topcoat on. Top coats will also separate or pit when they doesn’t go together with the previous gel polish brand that you have underneath. It doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with it. It just doesn’t go with what you’re putting it on top of.

Hi Suzie. I live in Edmonton and would love to come to your course. Where would a person stay close to where the event will be held? I paid $2800 a year ago to take a gel nail course and 4 months ago my instructor vanished off the face of the earth. It’s extremely frustrating. She just abandoned me and the company she was under contract with won’t do anything to help me. So spent all that money and no certificate 😢. Chrome chips off on the tip of the nail and then it spreads on the top surface throughout the month, so you get this big area of chrome missing. You can avoid that. You've just applied chrome then you file it off the the end of the nail so there's noting to chip. When applying topcoat, you wrap the ends. You can do two coats if needed. Chrome will last longer.

I find it adheres to Fake nail rather well. Sometimes a Gel Bonder like my Product called Bridge is excellent to stop chipping etc

Dear Suzie, thank you for answering. I'm sorry, but I didn't mean lifting. "Chipping" is not a suitable term, I just used the wrong word. (I'm not a native speaker.) I meant the chrome itself rubs onto things on the ends after awhile even with the topcoat on top of it. It starts from the edge and then spreads out to the top surface. Therefore we don't want chrome to be on the edges, so we go with a file around them, and then seal them with the topcoat. With this trick chrome surface remains almost flawles till the next appointment.

Try using a non wipe top coat underneath whatever you want chrome! If you use one that has the inhibition (tacky) layer that you have to wipe with alcohol it will be too sticky and won’t buff out to be mirror like🩷

I never had any problem with chrome applications until I purchased these 6different products with different shine in them (clear , blue ,green ,pink and purple ) . The problem occurs after chrome application because undertone is like yellowish or grey 🤦🏽‍♀️it’s so annoying and I’ve been trying to use different top coats and it’s still the same . Wondering if this could be due to the cheaper or not good quality of the chrome or something else . When it’s on it’s perfect only the colour underneath. Maybe would work better with colour under but I’ve tried light blue and green builder gel underneath and it’s all the same again 😪 If anyone had the same problem and knows how to fix it please let me know please 🙏

Hi. I have a daughter thats an artist and she has been teaching herself how to do gel nails for a year now. She has recently developed an allergy to Methacrylate. She is very sad because doing nails gives her so much joy and she is very interested in being a nail tech. I have seen so many videos on KZbin where NT's apply chrome powder and using a clear gel they draw over the powder and then "nuke it" afterwards they wipe off the excess chrome powder. Well I saw you still have some imperfections , lumps, with the chrome but you did not show us how you finished it off to be perfect. I use chrome a lot and have all the issues you showed and sometimes even ridge looking marks. I also wished you would have spoken about what grit the buffer was and the name of the skinny bit. Enjoy watching you though and your products. You can do so many things with chrome. I love the mermaid chrome. I am wearing it right now with a bubble look teal under it. I laid down some white gel and dried that, then put a dot of teal gel on my mixing board along with an equal amount of top coat and mixed the dot of top coat with the teal then polished over the white. The diluted teal makes it a tad see through . DO NOT CURE THIS.. Then I took my brush with the dotting tool on the end of it and dipped it in some top coat and touched it to the top of the wet polish. I did this until I had made little dots of top coat all over the thinned out teal nail. The dotted top coat spreads the teal color of the uncured coat on the nail into little bubble looking areas. I call them my Mermaid nails. I cure it when done dotting and then add another layer of top coat to make sure I have all of the nail covered. Now is when I rubbed on the mermaid chrome. If you are doing a seashell theme it really looks good. I made some star fish out of modeling gel to lay down on a few of the nails and used the white modeling gel to make ridges for a clam shell on one nail as well. When done then add your tiny pearls. There you have your mermaid nails.

Sorry maybe I didn’t make it clear enough. When I did the first nail, I pointed out the pitting and the cuticle being rough. Then I did the next nail to show how you buff it with a mandrel and make sure the cuticles are extremely smooth. As you can see in the first nail, it wasn’t. That’s why the second nail I was showing you how to fix that problem. And then I talked about alcohol, and sometimes it can cause the pocketing or pitting with a topcoat if there’s still alcohol on there. That’s why I explained you’ve got to dust it off and dry it as much as possible if you use alcohol, so it doesn’t affect the topcoat. And then I did the second nail to show you how it’s done. and when it comes to nails, it’s hard to make everything absolutely perfect especially when you’re magnifying it by like 20 in my camera with the close shots. You can see in the final shots. You cannot see any pitting or mistakes. That’s because we’re not looking at it nearest closely.

I couldn't believe what they wanted just for a few little rhinestones so I was determined to watch all the videos on you tube for several months until I learned how. Cure longer. She did do one a month or so ago with foils. But I found I did 30 s and no sticking, did 60 s and it was pulling the flower foil off the plastic.

I love foils, im actually kinda decent at doing them. Ive noticed the trick is rubbing it long enough, rub it till it lets go by itself, bc it will most the time., so when u lay the foul down, just rub it until the foil peel up on its on. It takes a lil time but i promise it works.and if it comes up and theres a place it didn't stick, just put it back down and rub it till it does.❤

ONE SOS HELP PLS: on Christmas I had my nails done by a salon (I did a permanent gel) and after having them removed I realized they are EXTREMELY THIN and fragile. They gave me a THERAPY from a well known brand but NO RESCUE.. even now they are at this same BAD CONDITION. -->What do you suggest I do? 🙏🏼 thank you

If you had them done about Christmas time and then had them removed there after when they removed them, it sounds like they took off too much of your natural nail, which has caused them to be thin and now they’re probably a little bit sore or tender. Of course you could put more product on it to protect them, but it won’t improve them. The only thing that’s going to make them better is to let them completely grow out. Nails take about 3 to 6 months to grow out from your cuticle the free edge. And there’s only depends on the length of your nail bed and how naturally fast or slow they grow. so rest assured, give it a couple more months and they’ll be feeling a lot better

Yes you can do over dip! You do need a non wipe topcoat to get the chrome to stick but you can put it on top of dip.
