Fantastic tips. I offer the option of a quiet service where clients can use headphones and listen to music or an audio book. I thought it might be useful for clients with social anxiety but it's also really popular for people who just want to relax and be pampered. I also write little notes on the client card e.g if someone mentions they have a big night out planned or that their friend is having a baby then I can ask them about it at their next appointment. It helps to make clients feel special and shows that you are interested in them.

I made the mistake early on of purchasing too many polish sets. It didn't take me long to start asking my clients to send me pictures of colors that THEY wanted. Those would then be the shades that I purchased, because I knew for a fact that at least that client would choose it. It sure beats having a multitude of colors that none of my clients ever choose.

Great advice! We often tend to overlook the customer service part of the job- clients need to feel comfortable and to enjoy the time spent with us.

Great tips! In my country the academies don’t really educate you in the business side of the trade. And I really would like that to become a standard. I started out recently as a part time tech, and I thought I had enough equipment and products. But man oh man I need a lot, and my table is too wide, my chair creeks, I need waaaaaaay more colors of gel polish ect.

I think this is a great video and terrific words to really take to heart. Start up items are so expensive, and it's unfortunate to say, but you really shouldn't buy the cheapest tools that money can get you. You end up having to spend more money in the short time because of the low quality product. The next thing you spoke of is the customer cards. That is such a great idea. Someway to keep track of everything with your clients. If you put it on your computer you can send promotions and emails. Thanks for all the wonderful tips! As always your channel is excellent

Dear Anastasia, can you please tell me what gel u used in this video. What brand. What viscosity. I can not find the right gel. They are all to thick. I cannot work with those. It sticks to everything! And it is hard to deposit and form on the nail. I compare it with silicone to that is used to seal tiles in the bathroom or kitchen. This is a nightmare. I would like the gel you use. The one you can flow over the nail by barely touching it. Thank you in advance. Best wishes, Claudia
