Extremely Bitten Nails To Long - Manicure & Extensions Transformation
In this video, I will show you how to transform extremely short & bitten nails into long and elegant. Besides being short and bitten - her cuticles were cut on the right hand, so it was challenging to work.
We decided to do almond shape as I think It is on of the best option for transforming wide nails.

As someone who's bit my nails my whole life down to the cuticle I can empathize with her. Having severe anxiety or depression or ptsd can cause you to do this, I didn't even realize I would bite my nails to the point they would bleed but it was something I discovered at a young age as a self soothing method or when I was really bored or stressed and I just didn't care anymore how my nails looked at all and it kind of made sense over all with gaining weight and being too tired or stressed to care. I gave up biting my nails for good a month ago and I've never felt better, I don't get sick as often and I can finally feel feminine when I look at my hands and when I dress up. It's been one of my biggest insecurities about my hands and how gross and unhealthy they looked. To finally take care of yourself and give yourself a chance to get better for more then a day or a week or a month is HUGE to alot of people. I applaud you for the taking the real time and energy and dedication to help her and her nails, they look sleek and beautiful! It may just be nails to some people but to her it could be the start of a journey of self worth and self acceptance. You're amazing!!

And she's Definitely stop biting her nails after she sees how beautiful they look with polish.

For those saying her client was being very picky and that she can’t take the pain, remember it’s one thing to self inflict pain and another someone else doing that to you. My nails are nowhere near this bad, but I’ve bitten a few ones a little too much and the pain can remain FOR DAYS. One time it hurt for almost 10 days, so I understand that she felt like it was burning. Bitting your nails is pretty much due to anxiety and stress, so imagine: if your nails are like that, how much anxiety she must have! Give her a break!

One day I started magnesium for a severe magnesium deficiency and to my shock I stopped biting my nails!!!! I have been a severe nail biter for decades. Far worse than this video. I'd bite and rip until my nails bled and keep on biting. So anyone reading this who bites their nails give magnesium a try! Magnesium oxide is poorly absorbed so I would not recommend this type. You can do it!!! Have you ever tried to keep a pen cap or something handy to bite when you feel the urge? I have. It has helped especially when I wanted to let them grow for an occasion. Also, I've had to mentally tell myself to take my fingers out of my mouth. I often have to tell young children to do that so it only made sense to do the same to myself. Weird but it definitely helped me. I still get urges but when my nails are full grown, I have less of an urge because I like painting them. 😊

My nails used to look horrible, I had bitten them for several years. Last year I decided that I didn't want to do it anymore. At first it was really hard, but then I found some tricks such as painting my nails every two weeks, so my nails would always be covered, and it would make me feel bad to bite them. When my nails were finally starting to grow long, they were weak and broke pretty easily, I didn't even file them because I was too scared that I would accidentally break them. It has been 5 months since I stopped biting my nails, they are pretty long, I still paint them every two weeks or so because I'm obsessed with nail polish and nail art, I love it more now that I have somewhere to do nail art. Now my nails are long, thick, sometimes I break them, but I file all at the same length and wait for them to grow long again, I just love how my nails look now!! Trust me, they can look much more than just decent again. HOPE MY EXPERIENCE HELPS!!!

I am really impressed. This is not just designing nails, but an actual health problem. There is a risk of infection etc, and you seem very aware of it. My daughter was a nail biter since she was a pre teen, and no matter what we did, it did not help. She started at a nail designer at age 18 (she is now 24) and it reduced her nail biting a lot, even tho she don’t wear acrylic nails all the time. And btw, biting nails can be a kind of OCD and might need other treatment.

I could cry with how good and nice you are. Also, the girl getting her nails done is very brave and it talks about your expertise that she approached you. I used to bite my nails like her. Anxiety had me biting even my knuckles. I rarely went to get my nails done because I was ashamed and people really didn’t know how to work with my hands… It was a lot of extra pain, and a lot of extra cuts that I got from those experiences. I stopped biting my nails on May, and I still do my own manicures. It’s a beautiful transformation! Good job ❤️

My nailbeds are still rather short (not as short as this video thank goodness) and I have wide beds, but, my nails are starting to finally get a bit of length on them! I started dipping and that has really helped the length as well! Unfortunately I have to keep them on the short side for work, but, I'm okay with that

Ooooh, my! I am a nail designer as well and working with bitten nails is a differential of my technique. I simply LOVE these transformations and I must say watching your video was so pleasant to me! I mean, I can feel here how much care and kindness were involved in your moves! My clients always praise me for my light touch on her nails and hands, because they are kinda traumatized by unkindly touches they are used to receive in ordinary nail salons (in fact, most of them don’t even accept this type of nails!). We all know onicofagy is not treated by nail extensions, but they can have so many benefits from this work! I mean: you encourage people not to hurt themselves (because it is not just a matter of choice! Nail biters can’t stop biting simply by their own sometimes) and give them self-esteem back! For sure there are some hurts and wound that would never eeever be covered by any kind on layer, but I am complete pro for nail extensions on bitten nails. I have so many successful stories in my work that I decided to keep it as a goal, you know? Helping nail biters is the main focus of my work, along with natural look nails. Thank you for this precious video 💓

OzonatedOil I’ve chewed my nails since I was really young. For me it’s due to severe anxiety and annoyance with them once they reach a certain length. Although lately I’ve reduced my chewing to one hand in an attempt to break the habit and grow my nails.😂 Having something in your mouth helps reduce anxiety because it’s the “if I’m in danger, why am I eating?” mindset. And not everyone has the ability or willingness to carry a manicure kit with them at all times, so when breaks occur or the nails get annoying, they get chewed back to comfort.

I used to bite my nails when I was younger. One of my coworkers took me to a salon and I walked away with a beautiful French manicure. I was hooked. I loved it so much that I took a course and learned to do them myself. I now work in the industry, and I love the challenge of bitten nails. I know first hand how having lovely nails can bring back your confidence. I do tend to be conservative with my biter clients, though, and start them out with short nails so that they can "grow into" their length. I find this lessens issues with breaking. Rain Snow they do not grow quicker. The nail bed is very short naturally and shorter even due to the biting. When you apply nail enhancements on very short nail beds, the more new nail that grows, it will be a larger portion of the whole nail bed which will look as if it needs an infill. In contrast, it takes months for a nail to grow back for someone with very long nail beds and looks like a smaller portion so people with longer nail beds can get away with less frequent infills :)

@@tyler439 with getting nails done I mean acrylics because for me with how pretty they were I didn't want to bite them and i couldnt because they were of course not like my real nail and couldnt bite it. What also helped is distracting myself with a pen or something to fidget with when I'm nervous because that's why I started biting them, if none works then you can try something that is for nail biters that when you put on your nail and try to bite it tastes so bad you don't wanna bite your nail

Very cute video. Enjoyed seeing the improvements with my son lol. A tip: she should rub mustardoil and wear disposable powderless gloves as much as possible on top of that. I have very dry hands and it helps me out. Wintergloves helped me stop thumbsucking. And powderless gloves helped my son stop nailbiting.

Omg Anastasia!! Those look gorgeous!! This is a TRUE transformation!! I've seen a lot of videos that say they are but aren't lol! You do amazing work! I've been trying to figure out how to fix a couple of mine to do my first set on myself and it's been hard lol. They have gotten really short. They're not bitten though it was more of me learning how to use my e-file and went a lil too close to some cuticles and didn't realize it until it became sensitive the next day. I have went to the salon for years so decided to teach myself at home. I had to wait until the last set was done and came off then I screwed up my cuticles. Needless to say I've bought a kinda expensive kit two months ago and keep getting too scared to do them lol. I've been just filling and filling lmao. This video has helped alot. I didn't think I could make my own free edge like that and of course I was a dumb dumb and also got forms to use for my first time instead of tips. Smh!! I've never had them used on me before and for some reason thought it would be easier.....yeah right lol. But I'm slowly figuring them out too and how to cut them to customize them for my nails that are now really short. Anyways sorry this is so long I was just trying to thank you for your videos and the way you go into detail and explain how to do them like this and why to do different things to help. Very informative and you are a great teacher. Oh and the patience is a must! It helps alot to calm down and figure out how to get the nails to do what you want without getting too frustrated. Keep up the great work your very inspiring!! I LOVE your videos and look forward to them. I can always find one for what I need at anytime!!

aj johnson some people ( like me) have really bad anxiety and it fucks us up so we go and bite our nails, we want to have pretty nails too, that’s not fair for people to turn us away just because you don’t want to put in a little work, that’s not fair to us and it’s not something we can get over so quickly, although my nails aren’t sensitive doesn’t mean you should turn away people who do have sensitive nails, even though we’re paying for you to do our nails. If we get our nails done then that takes away the fact we have anxiety or bitten nails. Because instead of looking at our nails that make us depressed and sad, we look at nails that make us feel better and that makes us forget that under that acrylic is short bitten nails. Sorry I just get upset easily

@@kate.-.8099 wintergloves helped me stop thumsucking. Powderless disposable gloves helped my son stop nailbiting. And I use them as a manicure during dishes: rub mustardoil on hands then wear gloves. Hope this can help you as well. Also try meditation? Or a new hobby or skill. To change the habit. Meditation in particular can help us keep still and relax. I do it too a few times a day 5 minutes. Its a good break from the daily hassles. Big hugs

@@kate.-.8099 I suffer from really bad anxiety even though I don't bite my nails at all. I had acrylics done a few times from a professional I now like to do it my self. Even though it hurt at times I never told her because I didn't want to be annoying(because of my anxiety). But it's really sad that some people turn others down because of situations like this ik it's not easy to do nails on someone like that and it can get frustrating.

Kate .-. It is fair because honestly you make the work on the technician extremely hard, especially for those who haven’t been trained in it. You guys are also more prone to lifting and breaking and many will come back to us and blame us for that happening. It’s also not recommended to put any length on nails like this because they are just more likely to break with barely anything to hold on to. It’s not unfair it’s them trying to follow all the protocols when 1) they usually don’t have notice before hand that your nails are bitten 2) they don’t want the blame if they break because you want length 3) they would rather not see you at all than do a bad job. If you have bad nails that’s on you not your nail tech

Honestly it made me kinda happy to see this video, bcuz usually people don’t put out video of bitten nails and such, and if people did, they would be kinda judgmental abt how, “ew her nails r so ugly” or “ ew who would mess up their nails that bad” bcuz that’s what most people say to me when I tell them abt my nail biting. My nails aren’t bitten to this extent but I’m happy that u weren’t judgmental abt it

Wow you are a miracle worker. Those nails went from frightening to beautiful and so pretty. I am not judging the client, because I used to bite my nails also and I struggled to stop. That's exactly why I started getting acrylic nails when they first came out. I stopped getting my nails done right before COVID broke out 3 years ago. I was trying to challenge myself to stop biting my natural nails permanently. I had tried and failed several times in the past. When COVID hit i had just bought a Polygel nail kit 2 months before because I wanted to try doing my own nails. Little did I know that I would not be able to get my nails done at the salon due to a pandemic. I tried doing the polygel a couple of times but it was difficult for me and I quickly got tired of struggling. I then decided to try to go all natural again and have only bitten my nails once in the past 3 years. It was difficult but I finally overcame the urge to do it. My natural nails can get pretty long but no matter what I do to take care of them they are still sometimes soft and they break. Its funny how now that I don't need to get my nails done i actually want to try the polygels again.
