im so glad to hear youre treating yourself to a new set! as a nail technician my nails always are the last to be taken care of and usually end up injured from bumping outgrown nails too. i also just did winter nails on myself before my clients because they were outgrown and injured as well 😭🤣 absolutely in love with the outcome of your nails, as always! 😍♥️

I have had the Melody Susie Scamander portable e-file for 3 years and it’s also fantastic for my DIY use, but also gets a little warm after 30-45 minutes of product removal or polygel service. Good advice about outgrowing your set, as usual Anastasia! Thanks for the thorough videos!

Well it’s the 24th and mine might get done today. I took them off two days ago because they were very outgrown and looking really bad. Unfortunately I didn’t get the new set on only a single layer of builder gel. I’ve now ripped off two because of small cracks in the edges. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ So now my job to fix them will be much harder. I guess I’ll just put on a winter set since Christmas is tomorrow 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️. Btw my favorite look is right after the dry manicure and perfect cuticles. Just so satisfying ♥️♥️♥️♥️

I love the designs. I prefer simple to busy. Thanks for the story. I think all of us at a certain age have been in that position at one time. I am a Veterinary Technician and when I got out of school I had to work 12 hour shifts in the ER for the first 3 years. It was crazy and my nails were the last thing I was thinking about. Now I'm older and run a clinic I can have nice nails. I would not trade those years for anything though.

Quick tip for slow-mo - if you have a phone that is not older than 3 years, you should have a slow-mo option. Iphone 12 and 13 will do 2k or 1080p (not sure). All I know is my samsung does full hd on slow-mo and 720p on super slow-mo. experiment with both speeds and see which one can capture it, but i think just regular slow-mo will be able to do it
@SusanIvanova2257
@SusanIvanova2257 3 жыл бұрын
True, slo mo and high FPS video has been a popular selling point the last few years so by now most mid range to flagship phones should have it. I just checked and my phone (zenphone 7 pro) does up to 480fps in 720p, 240 FPS in full hd and 120 FPS in 4k. Biggest issue are honestly the file sizes with slow mo video. But I guess if one just wants to catch the lifting flying off one could set the phone up as secondary camera for the minute or two that takes.
@Enoltra

I just purchased a nail drill similar to this but it has a cord and its friction fit for changing out bits (which I absolutely loathe.) I just started the return process and purchased this one instead. Mostly because it has the turn to lock bit feature and also I love the fact that's its cordless. I don't understand how they expect me to get a straight ceramic bit out of the friction fit drill without 1. ripping my fingers apart or 2. the bit breaking off inside it when attempting to remove. I'm a DIY nail enthusiast and this isn't my first drill so I feel comfortable without having a display on it - although it would be fab if it did. Maybe they can make a 2.0 version that has a small display.

I also agree. I still consider myself a beginner after 3 years but I love the MS Scamander drill instead bc it has the portability (I don’t have a big enough space for a permanent nail desk with a bulkier unit) and very easy controls. The battery lasts and lasts, no vibration/skipping, strong but gentle up to 30K rpm. I’m so glad I took Nail Couture and NCE Susie’s advice and researched until finding the one that works well for me. Take your time newbies!

you are always so helpful! just started an obsession with doing my own nails. Im a mom of 4 so it is nice to be able to take breaks at certain stopping points. I have a quick question.... after that first layer of clear gel for the extension, you shaped them, but did you buff the top before applying the thicker layer? Did you just leave the sticky layer? Would you have to buff the top if say, you left the project, washed dishes, or anything else before applying the thicker layer? This seems to be a problem I have. I get the first layer of the extension of the hard gel done, but it never fails that I need to do something for my kids in the middle of it. So I come back to it and buff the top of it AGAIN to make sure the next gel layer adheres correctly. It would be wonderful if I could skip the re-buffing throughout. It would save so much time and frustration and would be more enjoyable. I always seem to get the extensions on, but then never get the chance to polish and decorate! by the time I'm done buffing and re-buffing multiple times, I'm so sick of doing my my nails, that the fun part is ruined. I tried doing one hand at a time, or completing each individual nail, unfortunately, I usually end up with only one unpolish, sometimes unshaped, set on one hand. Or worse, only a few fingers that have extensions, a few unshaped, some long, some short. Its very discouraging.

@Cassee16
@Cassee16 3 жыл бұрын
No. Batteries now days actually last longest when kept in a middle zone. Charging over the 100% is worse than letting it die out. But if you just keep it from the low lows and high highs it's good. (I researched batteries and charging recently)
@stardustfactory8311

@@Cassee16 I mean the first time. In these videos, she always says to charge it full way the first instance that you open the package. I did not and now I’m concerned. I only did like 20mins charging after opening it and then did cuticle clean up and put it to charge again
@SusanIvanova2257
@SusanIvanova2257 3 жыл бұрын
@@stardustfactory8311 you'll probably be fine. Battery damage from charging tends to be accumulative. So, say you plug a device in and let it charge overnight except the battery is already fully charged after half of the night and then it's still on the charger for a few more hours. If you do that daily it will definitely wreck the battery faster. If you do it once in a while it's not a big deal. That's why a lot of new phones now have options where it will stop charging at 90% capacity for example. Or slow charge overnight and only fully charge right before you usually get up.
