I’m an Apre’ gel nail tech. When a client waits too long for a fill and they have grown out like these have I simply trim the product to the natural nail and soak them off because these tips soak off faster than they can be filed off. This is also another reason why I like apre’ gel. For clients that hate lots of filing I choose this product. I use the foil wrap technique for 10 minutes and the start the removal process on the nail I first wrapped. Using a 100 grit board to roll the product off the nail, that seems speedier than using a cuticle pusher or orange wood stick.

I feel ya on this! It’s why I won’t use these systems. Sculpting is king for a reason 👑
@Denisejohn65NailEd4 жыл бұрын
They look fine . For me though , I feel like systems like this are no more different than full glue on nails. The only difference would be using gel as the glue . These systems result in nails with no structure or apex .... a flat nail . No one needs any skill to glue on these type of nails .... like per say , sculpting nails with a paper form and product .
@Nailcou4 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Denise
@OfficialLadyDarkSky4 жыл бұрын
they have pre-sculptured nails so it has a full apex they also have them short long, box, square, round, oval, stiletto. funny you say glue but i like to think of the gel as a glue, i have used all kinds of nails and i have to say the systems go as press on nails being easiest to last then apex nails then acrylic then gel for me. reason press ons are last and easiest is because they don't have a structure or apex, where as apex nails do and are not flat at all.
@queenshad11614 жыл бұрын
. Denisejohn65 - Nail Ed sounds more like a user error. They are structured with more of a c-curve that runs down the whole tip. As far as the apex goes, that’s normally an issue if you’re pressing them down too much/flat. I feel their “sculpted” ones tend to have a deeper c curve and there’s more space in between the tip and natural nail to sort of do a reverse apex where you just have to fill in that gap which fills the apex, if that makes sense? Idk, I’ve done them on quite a few clients and they didn’t have issues with them snapping off. You get 2 fills or so before you have to do a rebalance
@SeabassFishbrains3 жыл бұрын
I work with the Apres Gel X system a ton (I offer it as an express service and have used them on myself since they first launched) and I've done lots of successful fills with them but they are so soft to file (especially once you get down to just the extend gel, that gel is soft and gummy af) that they can be really fussy to fill and they soak off so fast compared to any other extension product that it's honestly much faster to soak them off than to file them off or fill them. At this point I only fill them if the client has no lifting and originally came to me with bad damage that needs to grow out entirely protected, in those cases I use a tougher hard gel base layer (usually Light Elegance) under the gel X extensions for extra protection from the file.
@sarahdossor2962 жыл бұрын

You can actually pinch them by heating them a little and letting them cool in the pinching tool. I'm not a nail tech but got this tip from a hair client of mine who is a nail tech 😊

Took a lot of courage from your side to say this in a video about yourself's work..even though online all is "perfect" , "flawless" ,"best work" and so on. Many people do not realise that showing your mistakes makes you stronger in your field, by accepting and improving constantly. 😏
