That cable knit design was so simple but so classy. I just stumbled on to your videos and within 2 weeks my nails look great. I have been to scared to try gel. I tried dip and you have to soak that off too so I bought a gel kit. Watched a few videos and built up my confidence. My mani looked so dang fab, I militant about my cuticles now, almost did not want to gel them. Never did gel before and they came out really good. If it were not for the super clean nail bed, I think I would have had made a mess and gave up. Thank you for such great tips. You made this alot of fun for me. That dip was too much for appication without power tools, gel is more suitable for me. Still,that cable knit, it really was a cool nail doodle.

This is wonderful! I just found the channel. Could you do a video on clients that have moist hands and sticky cuticles?! I have a client like this and I’ve been trying to get her as clean as I can but my diamond bits get clogged quickly

Ever since I found your channel I’ve been obsessed with Russian manicures. In my state (Oregon) nail techs don’t touch the cuticles at all because the risk of infection is too high (it’s only high because the salons here don’t care about cleanliness and sterilization as much as they should 🤢). And Russian manicures aren’t a thing here. So I’ve been doing my own Russian manicure at home. What I found funny is I already had everything I needed to do them, I just needed the know how. So I watched a bunch of your instructional videos and have been really successful. My cuticles have never looked so tidy and professional looking after I’ve finished doing a set. I use cuticle oil daily and they’re so healthy and hydrated. I’ve had a couple people ask me where I got my nails done, and they were shocked that I did them myself lol. It’s a good feeling. Thank you for your clear and concise tutorials!

Very helpful video thanks ❤ my question is, i have always been trained to dehydrate the nailplate before gel application, does applying cuticle remover after etching the nail plate not compromise longevity? Is wiping with alchohol afterwards enough? Im afraid to try😅

I can't seem to get mine to work like these 😢. I have it on about 16000. I lightly do it, but at times it barely removes skin. What am I doing wrong? At times I try on mine but end up slightly over doing it making couple fingers tad sore, not bad though.

Hi could you please tell me what brand is the lamp in this video, I looking to buy one same like this. Thank you very much for the many videos they are very useful.

Sun UV. They're all over Amazon and Aliexpress. It's a common LED lamp. There's different models that have different strengths/wattages. I'd get the X10 or X11 at least, those will cure both gel polishes and builder gels. A common one is also the Sun UV X5, but it's not as strong, and I'd just use it for gel polish, not builder gels or nail art. I have both the X10 and X11 and it has been able to cure everything!

Wait aren't cuticles the white residue that appears atop the nail plate after using the pusher? I'm learning and from what I gathered what you're calling cuticle is actually excess nail fold skin. Not cuticle.

yes, she actually cut live cells, which is not recommended. They will only grow back thicker. I am also researching and found this video (it's not an ad, just something I found useful) pretty helpful since it suggests healthy and sustainable nail care: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hquZoIpmd6yVe8U&ab_channel=TheSalonLife

I really like Blue Cross cuticle remover. I lay down an old towel or t-shirt to catch all the mess. I keep applying more cuticle remover as I need to. Be sure to rinse well when finished as it can make your finger pads a little sore to leave it on. I gently scrape the cuticle off the nail plate with tail tools. Then rinse.

Nail tech here. The edges are not capped because they look thicker that way and the color start peeling there first.

Why does the world not know what the cuticle actually is? I tell you what it isn’t - it isn’t the part that is trimmed away with scissors. Google it, folks. Or consult any dermatologist. It is the papery thin skin cells on top of the nail, almost invisible to the naked eye.
@kristenarcement96567 ай бұрын
I can tell you you're wrong. It us exactly that peice that is cut away. Maybe do a bit of googling yourself
@itslowtide46907 ай бұрын
@@kristenarcement9656 I’m 1000% right. You’re the one that needs to throw out everything you think you know about it and research it. Research what actual dermatologists say and look at their published diagrams. When you’re finished, please come back and retract your comment….we will see if you’re brave and decent enough to do that.
@itslowtide46907 ай бұрын
@@kristenarcement9656 did you find out that I was right? The information is prevalent no matter where you go. The only reason people still believe that the skin you trim away is the cuticle is because that’s what they’ve always “heard”. But it’s 1000% wrong. Still waiting on you to come back after you figure it out and realize that the part that is trimmed away is actually living tissue called the eponychium, which is part of the proximal nail fold. The CUTICLE cannot be trimmed away really, cuz it’s a very thin papery layer of protection that grows up under the eponychium (proximal nail fold) and acts as a gasket by sealing out bacteria from the matrix where the stem cells are. So, when you tell me that I’m the one that needs to do googling, are you serious? Been there, done that, bought the tshirt long ago.
