Yeah, i feel like this is smoother, with better low end. But, it’s not a massive difference, from recollection the Nova was more neutral. This has a nice overall warmth that fits my preference more. The Nova was def easier on the eyes lol

Man, great impressions. And they resemble mine quite a bit. I combined the Naim Supernait 3 with harbeth p3esr speakers as a desktop setup. And man, no idea what PRAT means, but it’s great 😵‍💫

@TylersEclectic - Which is better, the Naim XS3 or the Naim Supernait 3? As well, would Kef Reference 3 Meta floor standing speakers pair well with either of the above mentioned Naim amplifiers?
@TylersEclectic
@TylersEclectic 5 ай бұрын
@@user-bq8rq8cv4g I think the Supernait 3 beats the XS3, I got to borrow my buddies for a short amount of time and it was a definite upgrade from the XS3 in clarity, imaging and power delivery. Both would drive the Refrence Meta 3 speakers… but on the lower end of the power requirements for those speakers. Xs3 is 70-80watts into 8ohm. Supernait3 is 80watts into 8ohm. The Meta 3 reference has power requirements of 50-300watts. Hope that helps :)

@TylersEclectic - I really appreciate you taking the time to respond to my questions. However, when you said that the Naim Supernait 3 is on the "lower end" of the power supply needed for the Kef Reference 3 Meta floor standing speakers, are you trying to tell me that those particular speakers are not a good fit for the Supernait 3 amplifier, since the Kef Reference 3 speakers require a much more powerful amplifier, and therefore the sound quality would not be as good as it could be? As well, in your opinion, what brand of speakers would perhaps be a better fit for the Naim Supernait 3?
@TylersEclectic
@TylersEclectic 5 ай бұрын
@@user-bq8rq8cv4g oh, I think the Supernait3 will be fine with the speakers (meta ref3), unless you have a massive room… then maybe you would need to add more power. I’m not super versed in the power to room size science. But, basically the closer you are to the speakers and or the smaller the room the less power you need, at least to my understanding. I would be shocked if the meta3 reference speakers sounded bad with the Supernait3 or XS3 for that matter.

Hi Sir, nice review !!! I wanted to ask on a scale of 1 to 10 where does the bass end up in terms of how strong/punchy it is ( meaning 1 is anemic weakness , 5 is neutral , 10 is chest pounding ). Thanks !!!
@TylersEclectic
@TylersEclectic Жыл бұрын
Well hello there! Hmmm… well off memory… it wasn’t quite as chest pounding As the Bryston amp… but, it sits around 7/8 depending on gear… at least in my experience… I miss it to be honest! One of my all time favorite bits of audio gear!

Has anyone ever seen a review of a pair of speakers, in which the reviewer has multiple amps, and says, "Next I tried these with a Naim blah-blah-blah, and *that* combination didn't work at all." You'll hear that about literally every other amp manufacturer, but I've honestly never heard a reviewer say that about an amp by NAIM.

Such a high quality review. Thanks again man. You bought the Spring 3 KTE? Are you going to evaluate it medium term versus the TT2 and keep just one?
@TylersEclectic
@TylersEclectic 2 жыл бұрын
I did by the spring 3kte… got a deal I couldn’t pass up on… I’m keeping both! One will be relegated to speaker setup. I plan on doing a DAC shoot out at some point… honestly the only thing on the chopping block is the Bifrost2… at the moment… I also need to sell my second pair of Verite Opens…I just dislike selling stuff online ha! Might see if a local HiFi shop will trade for other stuff, keep the reviews going that way ha!
@TylersEclectic
@TylersEclectic Жыл бұрын
@@joindivision1090 I think the Spring is technically the “better” DAC but, the TT2 is generally right there… and the TT2 has a built in amp and fits much nicer on desktop lol 😆 I bought the spring 3kte for the deal and to eventually be put into my stereo setup.
@TylersEclectic
@TylersEclectic Жыл бұрын
@@joindivision1090 also… as far as sound goes … I’d say they are close but the Spring edges out the TT2 is most areas… but, if I didn’t have them side by side I wouldn’t be able to tell. If debating with yourself on which to get… I’d just go with aesthetic and use case. TT2 is exponentially more versatile than the Spring3, due to connectivity options and headphone amp. Both look amazing aesthetically to me… but TT2 form factor is “easier” to live with due to smaller footprint.
@TylersEclectic

@@joindivision1090 yeah, that is fair to say of both of them to be honest. Both would do fantastic in either chain though… as they are more similar than different…

Brit gear has always been some of the best. Linn, Quad, Naim, Proac, Naim, PMC, ATC, etc....... Expensive but very unpretentious (except for KEF).
@stevenkoski228
@stevenkoski228 Жыл бұрын
KEF only got pretentious when they committed themselves to the Uni Q driver design. I blew both drivers in only 1 week of use, of an older set of midsized towers. Their SPL isn’t as great as their earlier multi driver models. I’m 67yrs old, I still own my ‘79 KEF 105 Series 1 speakers since new. They’re 43yrs old, but still deliver the romance, no matter what type of music is chosen. They elude a unique personality musically all their own. I will die owning them, I’d never sell them, my Godson will inherit them. If I were to buy a new speaker, it would be the B&W 802 Nautilus Diamond 3’s. They have more high frequency extension, but mimic my 105’s somewhat. Wish I owned their Series 2, which incorporated circuit breakers for the mid range drivers & tweeters. Mine have fuses. And boy have I blown decades worth of them, & never incurred any damage!
