Bought mine 4 Years ago, have loved it ever since. No Problems except a Blackout of the Display for some Months; the new Software Update helped; the Problem is well known; plus the Remote gave up on me after 1 Year, i use the App to control Volume since. The App is working perfectly. I am using the lovely Verity Audio Finn Speakers which suits the Nova Perfectly. The Sound is perfectly balanced with a perfect bass and a wide Range of Sound. Only Critics: No Option of connecting an Earphone Amplifyer which is mandatory in my Opinion if You are using High End Earphones (i use Focal Elear). But all together the Unity Nova is a stunning Peace of Work by Naim! Would recommend it 100%!

I think I'll take Nova too. I wanted to buy NAD M33, but your review made me think again. I'm going to listen to both of them, with my speakers, and I'll let you know what I've decided. I have a pair of Marten Duke 2 and I am curious which Naim Nova or NAD M33 sounds best. Does the Naim app have tone control? Bass and treble? Because I don't see it having physical buttons on the device, and I need these controls because I have a difficult camera. Thank you

I must choose between two set up for speakers PMC25 23i. Nova or Nait XS3+ Nd5 xs2. A third possibility can be the Hegel h190 but in this case the streaming is only with the Airplay. I find that the sound of Naim is better because there is really a synergy with PMC

I just got one of these and have to say that so far, I'm a little disappointed in the Naim. It was bought to replace a Bluesound Powernode 2 (not the i version - it's the previous version). I'm running it through Tannoy XT8F speakers - not the greatest speakers - but they are pretty good. The Powernode being less than a 1/4 of the price (it cost me £750 many moons ago) sounds better - at least to my ears. It has more clarity in the highs and its lows are much tighter and controlled. In fact it's the lows that are the Nova's big weakness in comparison - they sound muddied and lack definition in comparison to the tightly controlled Bluesound lows. My testing was done with blind testing and using an Apple iWatch 6 to establish volume levels with its noise app - hardly scientific but close. I have heard that these Nova's need time to run in, which I don't quite believe as it uses solid state electronics and is not valve driven - I suspect the 'run-in improvement' that some people seem to perceive might be down to just getting used to the sound the unit produces. That said, I'm going to give mine the benefit of the doubt in the short term - but if it doesn't improve, I will be selling it and replacing it with a NAD M10 which is supposed to be a refinement of the Powernode.
@ReallyVirtual3 жыл бұрын
I'm going to have to do a mea culpa here... The above post was made on the day of the system's arrival. This evening, for whatever reason, the bass started just 'working' - I have changed absolutely nothing! Maybe it does need some kind of running in? The sound is incredible - much better than the Powernode - I only hope it stays that way!
@dazaudio21313 жыл бұрын
@@ReallyVirtual You was probably just having a bad day lol.
@ReallyVirtual3 жыл бұрын
@@dazaudio2131 I was having a bad day simply because of how bad it sounded out of the box. I was going to sell it straight away. But a little over 24 hours later the sound completely changed - and the change wasn't subtle - it was a big change and it's one of the most terrific sounding systems I have ever heard. It's odd in that early on day 2 it still sounded bad, but then later on in the evening it just changed - and I hadn't touched a thing! I know it uses solid state electronics and I'm pretty sure these don't need to be run in, so I have no idea why this has happened. I love the Naim unit - definitely the best money I have spent in a long time :)
@daledecker85423 жыл бұрын
@@ReallyVirtual I know what you mean. I recently bought a Sonos Arc and Sub. Right out of the box and calibrated with the software it was...underwhelming. Even my wife was like 'Really? The Zvox sounded better'. A month later and we are both saying 'okay, its sounds MUCH better. Worth the money'. Glad to hear it. This is kind of a dream component for me (I'd LOVE to buy this and some Kanta no. 2 speakers). Nothing worse than hearing 'meh' on a review for a component you lust after :)
