I always wear gloves when I kite because the combo of wet hands for 4 hours trying to grip on to something gives my hands blisters no matter which bar I use. It's about the way my skin reacts to being wet more than the material the bar is coated with. On top of that I wear gloves for safety as I find it makes climbing lines during self rescue much easier.

Yo uso siempre guantes pero no por la barra, es una cuestión de seguridad a la hora de tener que tocar alguna linea que te puede cortar un dedo sin muchos miramientos. Igualmente buen vídeo.🤙🤙🤙

I loved the last bar, that was taken back because of safety reasons, the system to swap the hook from large to small or carabine was awesome, also the two lines in PU were better in terms of replacing them, and were better looking. The swivel was also different. And worked well, this one is sloppy doesnt go by itself, usually have to rotate it myslef, but some oil in the system should solve the problem as I was told, didnt have chance to try that yet. Personally i prefer above the bar depower and i think its just more universal. There was one update that was better over the last one, the velcro is locked in the depower piece, last time it was glued and came off. Overall the grip is better then older bars and less prone to blisters.

How do I lock the leash in semi-suicide mode? The hook is too thick for the leash carabiner. Do I need to open the hook and close that every time at the beginning of the session?

Hi Marcel, good review. I’m using an Ocean Rodeo bar with the i3 qr system as well, and you’re right, the swivel is sh🎉🎉it ! Do you know if there are longer chicken loops available, maybe from other brands? Do they have a rope slider chicken loop? Anyway, go ahead with this clear reviews!

Hi Frank, thanks for your feedback 😁🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾. You can use the Duotone Loops, regular or slider. You have to cut a tiny bit from the rubber coating, that the Duotone loop fits in the hole from the OR safety. Enjoy your next ride😎

I did not buy it because I prefer the below the bar depower option that is now not available... I have many versions of naish bars and it's only going back to something like 2010 that it was a really good to use without gloves, all newer systems were really hard to use without gloves but I still loved them because of the below the bar depower and not round swivel. The only great thing I see better on this new model is the release system that is now easier to reload, but with no below the bar option then I would look for another brand with better grip that could be better to use without gloves!

This Ocean Rodeo quick release with that heavy swivel is a disaster. I sold the bar after 1 month and replaced it with an old ATB bar, which I reworked with a North V piece and a ball to keep the safety line from twisting and tearing.

What is the quality and the rating on the lines also what length do they come in?
@Surf_Life2 жыл бұрын
Hi Serge Mann, the quality of all parts is very high, in general and compared to the other market products, except the chicken loop. The chicken loop itself is good and the snap in release works but the swivel... well how to say it professionally... doesn't swivel .😅Well, the lines and it's quality is discussable. I'm okay with the quality of the lines (22m + 2m extensions) and I trust it. The wear and tear after 3 months intensive use is normal, like other top flying lines on the market.

@@Surf_Life like SK99? Thats the benchmark in the market. It is a SK99 then? Because I know the ratings to that line. If it's not that or you don't know it's a very low quality cheapest they could find on the market without getting sued.

@@sergemann5951 It's the TLS 500. I don't know about the rating. Where do you have your information about the rating from?
@globaltb66762 ай бұрын
I just replaced the TLS500 lines with a SK99 kit from thelinesmith and they are much lighter, no stretch, and feel more direct.

What a horrible design of the bar! Specifically the pointy tips. I want to cut them off! Those sharp pointy sticking out tips are magnets for your wetsuit - I ripped a hole in mine, for seaweed, for kitelines - mine wrapped around the pointy tip and kite started looping... I want to take a saw and cut them off, and then round them some more with a file to make it smooth, like Cabrinha. This bar works great when nothing happens, but when the going gets tough - it complicates things... I will never buy it again!
