Another excellent episode guys. I'm a Celtic fan but as a football fan that was awesome, getting to listen to a candid conversation between a young manager and a more experienced one about the ups and downs of managerial life was just excellent stuff. I love how, here on YT, the players and managers, past and present are more relaxed and honest with their views than they are on the mainstream soundbite channels. I hope it's successful enough that you guys get another crack next season.

I don't hate the idea but he's tactically similar to Steve Clarke.. not sure the majority of fans would be too happy with that. Not sure he would pick the same squads though, seems to have a bit more sense than that

Killie fan here. I'm pretty certain that all the current frustrations we have with Clarke (loyalty to certain players, "negative" tactics, etc.) we'd get ten-fold with McInnes. Between the two of them, Clarke is by far the more talented manager in my opinion.

A lot of Aberdeen fans in the tartan army so there would be lots of opinion about it I’m sure. For me I think he’s too cautious and too safe, and we would ultimately underachieve because he often didn’t play to win at Aberdeen, but would try to hold any slender advantage he had.

Hearts are playing much better and completely different to how Naisy had us playing. Same squad different manager. Only thing we are missing is goals. Shanks is out of form and no one else is stepping up. Playing rangers and thinking we can win is the only way hearts fans want to have it.

Shankland kept Naismith in a job last season. Style of play was the exact same, only difference was Shankland scored for fun. Signings were decent in the summer, however completely bizarre to be playing players out of position. Spittal playing holding midfield was strange and it's no surprise he's found form since playing higher up the pitch. Not signing a striker as well was the final nail in the coffin. Relying on Vargas (out of form and arguably not even a striker), Boyce (was finished about 4 seasons ago) and James Wilson (far too inexperienced to be reliant on a 17 year old) Good riddance. Thanks for the 3rd place finish.... But it was really down to Shankland. Completely deluded as well. Think it could have been turned round after the St Mirren game... We were 2-1 down at half time and didn't have a single shot in the second half! 70%+ possession.... All in the defensive half! Delusional.
@theman5817 күн бұрын
I think it's your fault, Andrew; you've doubled your salary and slashed the budget of the last 2 managers, throwing them under the bus with squads with giant deficiencies Hearts are targetted from non-OF teams the same way as OF teams; we need to spend guaranteed income immediately and have an almost interest-free loan facility, as accounts proved Yet Neilson played a LB and a kid against fiorentina, now Naismith is gone because there was no cover for Beni, Shankland or Nieuwenhof and Tagawa and Kirk were sold So you get your salary nearly doubled and the fans get a continual ****show What's that? You're not Andrew, well, pass it on to Andrew, then

If it wasn’t for Shanks scoring for fun last season Naismith wouldn’t have made it as far along as he did at Hearts. And In my humble opinion I think Naismith took it for granted that Shanks would be his get outta jail free card again this season. Shankland carried Hearts almost single handed to the third spot last season and whilst he was scoring goals week in week out it gave Naismith a false sense of security to go and fuck about with the starting line up and the formation week in week out. Almost as if he was doing his own wee experiments with the squad. The only continuity and consistency in the team when Naismith had the reins was Shankland. The stark contrast between Shankland last season and Shankland this season is scary. He’s been a waste of a jersey this season and for him to go from top league goal scorer last season to playing as awful as he is this season is frightening, Absolute polar opposites.

Is it really the manager though, we all know the buck stops with him, but the players no doubt need to look at themselves too. HHGH
@mikeharrison7217 күн бұрын
I’m sorry for Naisey, wanted him to succeed but ex players and managers need to stop blaming social media all the time, yes it’s got a small influence in things but it’s not much. The reason Scottish football boards are sacking managers very quickly is due to league set up, if you lose a few games your bottom of the league and if it continues you’re gone. They need to change league set up to 18 teams playing each other twice and get away from this Micky mouse league set up just so Rangers and Celtic can get the benefit.
@kevinmcnicoll864917 күн бұрын
All good points but it's not Celtic and Rangers who get the benefit it's Sky. We need all the clubs to get their own tv channels set up charge a monthly fee and get rid of the sky deal, as they will never settle for anything less than the 4 Old Firm games
@mikeharrison7217 күн бұрын
@@kevinmcnicoll8649 but they do benefit from our set up though. Playing the same teams sometimes 5 or even 6 times a season becomes impossible for the rest of the clubs and easier for these two as they by and large have the bigger squads with the better quality and know how to beat the rest. If you cut it back and make it an 18 team league playing each other twice it gives managers like Derek McInnes more chance to cause an upset and get more consistent results against the bigger clubs. It’s like anything you do in life, the more repetitive it is, the easier it becomes. Folk like Doncaster need removed from their positions as they are incompetent and incapable of bringing our game back to a level of competitiveness.
@kevinmcnicoll864917 күн бұрын
@mikeharrison72 whether there were 18 teams or 10 teams Celtic and Rangers would win so it doesn't matter. But to make the league more exciting then it definitely needs a bigger league, but as long as sky are involved it won't happen
@mikeharrison7217 күн бұрын
@@kevinmcnicoll8649It’s a very narrow minded view, which is exactly the problem Scottish football has had since 1872. I don’t mean your view btw I’m meaning SPL view, I agree with a lot of your points and you are correct, it won’t change the outcome initially but it will help in the long term. It’s folk like Doncaster that need removed as they are incapable of getting the league to the level we all expect. With more teams it becomes more competitive, with more competition comes more appeal, with more appeal comes better PR, with better PR comes more sponsorship or TV rights, with more sponsorship comes more money, the money distribution throughout the league builds better squads and gives the rest more chance to progress. It’s not rocket science.

He was a clown. Straight down the tunnel whenever we lost. Out giving it big licks on the pitch whenever we won. Threw the players under the bus. Didn't have a clue what his strongest 11 was. Shankland's goals was a distraction last season. If it wasn't for Shankland's goals last season we would've finished near the bottom of the league. This wasn't down to good tactics or good play, it was just Shankland's goals were the difference and that the rest of the league last season was pish. Brutal manager.
