There are significant differences in the Irish emigration story and the current "immigration" process. 1. Before they departed Ireland they were screened for disease and other impediments to a long sea voyage under challenging conditions. 2. Wherever the Irish landed they were screened again for health and fitness to work and survive the harsh living conditions they were about to encounter. 3. They worked as the cheapest labour - building America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand. 4. Nothing was provided for them.. no shelter, no food, no clothing. They worked or they died. 5. Whilst the Irish gained footholds in politics, civil society they both assimmilated with the new culture and kept their own to themselves whilst living alongside Chinese, Italians, Jews, Blacks. 6. They emigrated as families. Women and children included. Open borders policy equates with shooting yourself in both feet deliberately. Zero health checks, zero criminal records checks. Zero work or any contribution to the new society. Zero requirement to assimilate.

Before the modern welfare state, immigrants either made it on their own, perished trying, or went back home. Even as late as the 1950's and 1960's immigrants required a 'sponsor' already in the USA (brother, sister, relative) who would ensure they would not become a burden on the state.

@@margarethoffman6492 What a load of waffle! So many Irish Emigrants who were sent abroad during the Famine in 'Coffin ships' I don't think they were being given a health check by some random doctors sitting on the harbours around the country. There was no coming back for millions of them, they couldn't just jump on a Ryanair or Aer Lingus flight to come back home either. Many Irish Emigrants sent to Australian Penal Colonies became citizens and politicians. They created a White European society which massacred thousand of the native Aboriginal peoples. Taking their lands from them and plundering them of all their natural resources which still goes on today. The Irish abroad were just as racist as all of the western European countries who built empires for themselves.

Dublin city is now a 'no go' area for me. Due to necessity I travelled in a few weeks ago by bus. Gangs of middle Eastern men standing at corners. Recent arrivals, young black/Asian men, walking around with tags still on the luggage, looking at mobile phones. Very few Irish to be seen anywhere. The city felt foreign and dangerous to me. Left very quickly. Dublin city and many suburbs are forever changed. We are too small a country to take in these numbers of economic migrants.

So how come we had such a wonderful health care system in previous times when people were poorer, work was short and dole queues were long and there were petrol strikes, like in the seventies? Yet the health care system was second to none. The hospitals were spotless, thanks to the nuns in many cases, just as they had the schools spotless also. The nurses were Irish and had a vocation to their nursing careers. Nobody went without care or doctors appointments? So how is that? What happened? We are now supplying Australia and Dubai and the US with our newly qualified nurses at the expense of the Irish taxpayer? No sooner have they received their degree and they are on the first plane out? The word has it that they can't afford to buy a house? Well who can ever afford to buy a house straight out of college? Nobody. How can they expect that? Yet we now have , for example, nurses from India buying up property here? How can they afford it? This young generation of Irish medic s want to get away it seems to me. They want the sun and excitement of being off of this Island but I don't think we should be paying for their education in order to fulfill the needs of Australia or Dubai. They are a generation with different values and it's insulting to the young people who stay here, work hard and manage to buy a home here, to insinuate that we are sending the brains of the country away. So leaving the country means they are more intelligent than those who stay(the majority stay). I think they should have to sign a contract to stay and work here for a number of years at least the same number as it took to train them! Otherwise let Australia or Dubai educate them. We can't afford the luxury.
@deirdremckeogh6237
@deirdremckeogh6237 23 сағат бұрын
@@sadasyoucanbe completely agree. They should be made to sign a contract. But this issue is bigger than just the young doctors. If you have been paying attention for the last 4/5 years you will be aware there is a concerted destruction of society going on. The media/politicians/judiciary have been blackmailed/bribed into pushing the WEF agenda. The WOKE ideology, the foreign invasion, the price hikes, the forced vaccinations, the annihilation of anyone who steps out of the narrative, even the ubiquitious cycle lanes + fervent drive to build on all publicly owned land, etc, it is all a well constructed plan. Please step back + understand this is NOT a singular issue. They need to break western communities + do a 'reset' of their choosing.

Arab countries with the big oil money have enough wealth and resources to maintain order and security at least in the major urban areas; most European countries are also quite wealthy but they're not yet accustomed to needing much security and a strict police state so they're just letting the chaos/violence continue unabated likely in fear of being called racist since the trouble-seeking migrants are overwhelmingly non-europeans from dangerous undeveloped areas.

But I am first generation American, grew up surrounded by Irish and Irish Americans, all at least nominally Catholic, and in America the Irish are known for being very vocal! And most Irish Catholics in America that I know are much more socially conservative (more Catholics voted for Trump than Biden, a guy who claims to be Catholic). So, it's been a bit of culture shock for me since arriving because I DO find the Irish to be surprisingly liberal, and just as you describe them. Very different to Irish-Americans, and, honestly, a bit tough for me to find a sense of belonging or fitting in, though I definitely strive to acclimate - mostly by keeping my mouth shut outside of these KZbin posts! 😊

My plan has always been to return to live out my life in Ireland BUT after a two month stay there wandering the whole country I have totally changed mind and am now moving to the far north-east section of the US. Ireland is just a once wonderful place that has been totally trashed by the woke left diversity mob. It breaks my heart to say it but I have seen it from north to south and it's true.

You bring up an issue that has just triggered a debate in the US, with Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy urging more visas to be issued for skilled workers, while most American conservatives want employment to be prioritized for US workers. There is an argument to be made for the benefits of comparative advantage over nationalist loyalty, but no easy answers. However, I think in a country as small as Ireland, it's the sheer size of the ongoing immigrant influx, on a per capita basis, that is causing a cultural transformation that some, myself included, feel is eroding the rich heritage of Irish culture, "the feeling of Irishness." My family is originally from Lisdoonvarna, has been there for centuries, and there are now more refugees living in this small town than there are locals. This necessarily has a dramatic impact on the long-standing local culture, even, of course, on the availability of housing for locals (as you note). To pretend otherwise is disingenuous.

Those of us who reached middle age and older are the last generation to have grown up in an Ireland that was Irish... It's curious. Not enough Irish want to be doctors? Or the schools aren't admitting enough ? Super high standards? So instead Ireland is importing doctors who were able to meet 3rd world standards 🤔 Of course I imagine they need to pass an Irish exam etc too for licensing but that's a lower hurdle in a way once you've already been practicing in Asia for years. But here's the point: you can get competent Irish doctors if the schools and govt wanted them. Thr govt globalists are creating the'need'. migrant influx is orchestrated with so much bs pretense around EU. Wake up. Look at Poland growing with zero immigrants. Love your people and they'll stay

I never had a major problem with legal immigrants coming into IRELAND to work and these immigrants contributing to irish society and accepting our traditions and values, but what pisses me off nowadays is the immigrants ( and especially the illegal ones) coming in with absolutely NO intention of accepting our culture ,religion or even trying to learn the language. The native irish people are now being told to change who we are to suit these people's needs. They are now slowly even trying to get rid of Christmas. (Has anyone noticed that they have stoped calling them Christmas lights and are now calling them winter lights in Dublin). The irish people are being very quickly wiped out by its own corrupt government who just laugh at us. The sad reality is that most irish people are fast asleep and are very happy not to wake up. I personally think the biggest danger to IRELAND is ISLAM. i cannot get my head around the huge support for Palestine and Hamas in Ireland. Nobody wants to see innocent people die on any side but its radical Islamic lunatics that have caused all the problems over there. They do not accept any other religion and are trying to wipe out any non believers. Just look at england next door if you want to see what Ireland will look like if we keep encouraging islam into this country.

The west, mainly the US & UK, have enabled the Zionist Israeli apartheid against Palestinians & Arabs. The west colonized Palestine just as Britain colonized Ireland & India, & they did it to enrich themselves. Ireland suffered immensely from & fought bravely against British rule, just as Palestinians have & do. Hamas members are no more terrorists than the Zionists who persecute them. And Ireland strongly cast off the Catholic yoke in the face of horrific abuse of women & children. I’m proud of my Irish heritage but it also strengthens in me my identification with oppressed people around the world. And what I see in the US is a greatly accelerated accumulation of wealth by the few while many of the rest struggle & suffer & lose hope because of a deeply unjust system, perhaps not unlike in Ireland, where many companies relocate their headquarters due to lax tax rules while contributing little if anything to the nation that supports them. The racial & ethnic & cultural aspects of all of this suffering & bad faith hide the deeper issue-class.

So, the tipping point is near for Europe and then the British Isles. Continental Europe is turning a hard right on a platform of remigration. I expect the young will rise up and fight for their land. The EU will dissolve and blood will run in the streets at some point. In your Islands though, it looks like total subjugation will take place.

A lot of dancing around the issue. The issue is fundamentally twofold. Firstly, it is the scale and pace of immigration, too many and too fast. Secondly, it is the type of immigrants, specifically those from Islamic countries and whose culture is very different. Whilst Ireland is no longer dominated by the Catholic Church it still has underlying Christian morals and values whilst those of Islamists are not only different but in some instances are fundamentally opposed to those of the majority of Irish natives. Both situations are leading the country into a dark place and regrettably the politicians are seemingly blind to what is happening in Sweden, Denmark, France and Germany. In England there are now several cities with majority non white populations.

I live here and you should know that here 90pc of pharmacist are Muslims and 50pc of doctors are Muslims so unlike other countries in the middle east All girls are given great education and careers! Ireland as part of the UK is a Christian country that's their choice! Israel is a Jewish country that's their choice with equal opportunities for jew Muslim and Christian! When some of our neighbours call for our destruction because it is a Jewish state we defend ourselves! I believe you would do the same if anyone should call for the destruction of Ireland as a Christian country and in its place form a Islamic Republic! The Irish would fight to the last drop of blood for their Christmas for their Easter! So what i am saying don't attack Israel for fighting to defend its culture and its people! We were there last in September, 2023. Over tge years we have seen and heard of the changes in your demographics. We have seen the young, bright people emigrate out of Ireland. We have experienced Dublin City change into a hectic, crime ridden place, and Galway City has lost much of its charm. The problems you describe in your videos echos much of what we experiencing here in America. But we do agree that the Left has begun to erode, and the insanity of their ideologies has been exposed. We are hopeful that President Trump will facilitate a return to normalcy; and we hope the Ireland will wake up and undergo the same positive changes. Thanks for your informative analysis of life in one of our favorite places, Ireland.

European countries have been built successful by people with high trust and true cohesion. People that now are coming to Europe mostly come from low trust societies. It's just a fact that crime rates will rise. People from low trust countries WILL bring their own cultural norms and values with them. Cultural differences are more than just nice little things like different foods and clothing and music : they are also values, societal norms, attitudes towards other people and the system itself. The core values of an individual are internalized by the age of 10ish and they're permanent, almost unchangeable (according to sociological studies, not just me). People often say things like "but hey, look at USA, they're a melting pot of different cultures and they're doing great!" They forget that it was Europeans with european values that are behind The Constitution that USA is built upon.

Actually it's not a melting pot in the USA anymore. We are balkanizi ng rapidly. Probably the country will break apart into 3 or 4 regions. Whites will very soon be a persecuted minority. Things are getting ugly.

My dad was Irish and he'd tell me off if I ever said anything negative about diversity, I used to see it as half naive and half a bit of anger towards the English, he didn't want me to be like a right wing English person. I get that, but I think if he was Alive today, he'd be horrified at seeing how diverse Dublin for example is.

Love that walk in Rinville....ur 100% correct but I find people that are liberal and woke don't want to engage or even try to see an alternative point of view...and this is particularly true in mainstream media hence cancel culture! People will become more polarised on the left and right (we have no 'right' party now in ireland), this is exactly how Trump got voted in ....very soon ireland will be crying out for our own Trump political figure! Seriously. Keep up the good work...and walks!

We(US) have many of the same issues that you are facing for multiple years. They dont even learn English anymore and live off our government. Stay strong, fight for your culture! It will be difficult but keep going. From USA.

You have a lot of racial division in that country. Ireland is kinda ending up the same. 20 years ago when Africans were moving here, people thought they'd be just the same as us and we'd be on a similar wavelength but you don't see as much mingling of races as we thought. groups are kinda sticking together.

Most irish including myself are more than happy for all the law abiding citizens that come from other countries. what we are annoyed and tired of is our government and the fact that they are allowing all these illegal immigrants in and not just that but they give them money from tax payers and give them free housing mean while there are thousands of homeless irish that our government don't give a sh** about, or all the people being evicted so landlords(aka politicians) can raise the prices to fleece their own country men. then we have all this woke crap about trans and forcing it down our throats and into our kids education. society today is so messed up at this point most young irish adults are just giving up

Ireland only has to look across the irish sea to see how it's gonna end up, you're just 20 years behind us here in the UK.

I completely agree with you about how in 20 years Ireland won't feel like Ireland anymore, and it's very disappointing, yes. As a millennial, I remember at the turn of the 20th century when I was about 4/5, everyone back then was giving about the amount of Polish coming into the country. A few more years passed and I noticed diversity was being promoted / encouraged almost everywhere, especially in schools. Television and media was always unrealistically diverse - almost as if the government was pushing it on us (which I honestly didn't care about), and if you asked people, most would have said it's great. To me, it was a clear sign of what's to come - not immigration but the fact that the world was going to become more diverse. But now that it's actually happening, everyone is complaining. Did people not realize what they were actually promoting? I'm not exactly trying to make any point I suppose, just my experience.

I only know the Irish from the North West. They are polite, friendly and unfortunately very naive. 20 years ago I was surprised that no one checked the Poles who came, and I know that there were some who came because they were running away from the Polish justice system. Usually it was petty theft, assault, maybe unpaid debts. Emigration policy must change, work permits should only be for a few years. When in 2009 I said that there are too many emigrants like me and young Irish people should not emigrate to Australia or Canada, I was perceived as backward, a few years ago as a radical right-winger and now as a rational thinker. Political correctness does not pay off. I am glad that the fear of speaking your mind has ended. Take care of your home because it is also mine. I have lived in Ireland for twenty years.

Once again, you need to approach this through the political system. If you control the levers of Government, the Country is yours. Stop looking in all the wrong places.
