Its a great tablet still. Bought it with a keyboard case and using it more often than my laptop. Can play some emulated games-I just use the keyboard (its fine for lets say j2me games) or connect xbox controller via usb-c Drawing is amazing on this screen. Oh but please be aware- if you're thinking about buying a matte screen protector- give up. You will see that annoying grainy rainbow effect. I've instead opted for glass screen protector and some soft pen nibs. It does lag sometime with huge brushes, but I don't use any complex or huge brushes either way. For watching anime and movies, reading... Its great. I've not found any downsides and no reason at all to upgrade. Except- if you wan't to use Clip studio paint- you will have to find an older version, since Tab s4 supports up to Android 10. You know, screw Clip studio with their subsciptions. There are other apps which are just as good.

Sounds like a hardware issue. I found this for you: "As a DIY repair the only thing to do is to first open the tablet and check if the LCD display flex cable connection to the systemboard is OK and if it is, then to temporarily replace the display assembly to check if the problem is with the LCD display or the systemboard."

Its 6 years old tablet which is a flagship and i got a very good deal for it for 110 dollars
