Najara Provokes Xena | Xena: Warrior Princess

This talk breaks my heart a little bit. What Najara says about Xena is painfully true, at least from Xena's perspective, so Xena can't really react to that. By this episode, Xena has been thinking she's leading Gabrielle away from her true way and feeling really guilty about it. And she's been worried sick about the death vision. Hearing about her own insecurities from someone like Najara must have hurt. Poor Xena.

Najara was a great villain because she was matched in skill to Xena AND she gave Xena a run for her money over Gabrielle. ;)

Najara is the most dangerous to Xena and the one I hate the most because she wants to steal Gabrielle from Xena and that I can't stand it. Callisto is a likeable villain because she is so mean in a playful way, but Najara is HATEFUL!! I hate her after centuries even after her own death. She almost got Gabrielle.

Fantastic character. I used her as an NPC in my D&D campaign, never told my players if the Djinn she heard were real or if she was crazy. She's a personal favorite character. I wish they had used her just one last time. Great thought-provoking villain.

What a funny coincidence. Though not to the same detail as your NPC, I named one of my D&D characters Najara, a Tiefling. I too had hoped they used her another time - either to make her into an antihero, or to see how she interacted with people like Callisto or any of the Amazons .

I used her in a D&D campaign. However I made her good slightly tweeking her personality a bit so she was less of a zealot. Still fun to play though

They ruined her character in this. She was charismatic and ambiguous whether she's crazy or truly guided by some spirits. Here, she's just a crazy.

I wholeheartedly agree. The writing in this episode is subpar for Najara's character. It reminded me of the Horde, a devastating enemy in their debut, suddenly became a friendly group of natives in their subsequent appearance.

@@Nepthu The Horde wasn't quite friendly, I think being extremist tree huggers is somewhat reasonable, though they didn't seem to be the ultimate danger Xena originally made us to believe. However, I hated that Daughter of Pomira totally ignored the fact that the leader kidnapped a girl from her family and nearlyeveryone, including Xena was acting like she was merely found by them.
