Nakamichi 1000ZXL 1st start-check before service

Newly acquired ZXL, from the first owner, but it has not been used...hmmm...8 years. This is now the third ZXL in my collection, but it will go on sale after it will be fully serviced and restored.
It have a few issues, but nothing that can't be fixed. It is important that it plays and records on both channels :).
So much for now...but more when it's his turn...probably sometime in the second half of 2025.

Whoa. That one has all kinds of problems. That will be a hard one to fully fix. And problems with the VFD. I watched another tech try to fix VFD problems before by replacing all kinds of chips, then boards, then everything that connects to the meters. No luck. Hopefully your experience will be different.

Most of all problems are fixed and VFD also. Next step is to install DD drive from Dragon.

Could be made new controller for display or transport by PIC or arduino, if many hard not resolve problem))) The main things is the play and rec heads.

What's the problem with meters? And how did you decide it? I have the same problem with my 680

@@БОРИСЛАВБОБИ you can't send mail as i put () arounf @ (@) to protect unaturised sending spams to my mail. If you use mail without () i will got it.
