Hi Blake!!! Excellent presentation as always!!! You have test many notebooks until now and I was thinking if you could make a comparative presentation, because I was looking for a notebook better than Cosmo air light and it was not that easy to find it. I check already your web site, but in your "top five" many of the latest are missing. And also I could 't figure out which is similar to which. So I was wandering, since you own all these notebooks, if it is not that big trouble for you, if you could give us this information. Anyway thanks a lot for all the presentations, I am always among the first to watch you broadcasts!!!

Thanks the comment Victoria! I appreciate it. I am planning on doing a top five video for softcover notebooks and one for hardcover notebooks but until then maybe I can help you find the right notebook. Which Cosmo Air Light notebook are you using now? What do you like about it and what do you not like about it? The papers most similar to Cosmo Air Light are Tora-Next, Graphilo, and Tomoe River. These are all coated papers but the Tora-Next is the closest.

@@BlakesBroadcast thank you so much for answering!!! I use Yamamoto Cosmo Note Notebook A5 83gsm and I prefer dotted pages, not blanks. I am a pen user. I use only pens with different nibs (preferably M) and many different inks including wet inks. So, the most important for me is the absence of feathering. Then is bleeding. The backside of the page must be absolutely usable. With Tomoe River paper I am satisfied but I am looking for an alternative because it is hard to find it.

@@victoriatsavdaridou6725 TarokoShop on Etsy makes a 5mm dot grid Cosmo Air Light notebook called 'Odyssey' for $18 (before shipping). I haven't personally tested it yet but it looks quite good. Musubi Folio notebooks could be another option. They don't come dotted but they come in "cross grid" and lined options in Cosmo Air Light and the old 52gsm Tomoe River (they bought lots of stock before it was discontinued).

Excellent review , Blake. There are lot of positive things about this notebook. I felt the price is okay when you compare with moleskines. Ha ha I would definitely try this with finer nibs. Thank you. Happy new year. 😊

Hi Dash, Happy New Year! I definitely like the paper and the 2 page signatures.

It can also be used for handwriting practice. I think that 2mm grid is the same height as a seyes ruled paper (french rule). In handwriting practice (I think its spencerian calligraphy) some letters are shorter than others for example: t and d have a lower height of 2 boxes (4mm) than the rest of the tall letters which I think is using 3 boxes (6mm). So I think that it is designed for that as well.

Thanks for the comment L Lion! I could definitely see it being useful for practicing handwriting.

That's an interesting design but I think notebooks with more substantial covers would be better when you are away from the desk. No matter. Helpful review!

That is a fair point.

@@BlakesBroadcast One of the reasons I so like Black n' Red notebooks is the cover is sturdy enough to as a shield if you want to test the hypothesis that the pen is migher than the sword. The other reason is they are dirty cheap!

Thanks for thiis video. Does it say somewhere how much grams the paper is? How does it feel to write on it?
@BlakesBroadcast
@BlakesBroadcast 2 жыл бұрын
You are welcome. It does not say, but I believe this is the 81.4 gsm version of the OK Fools paper. It has a very nice texture with a bit a feedback. I like writing on it. It has a similar feel to Mitsubishi Bank Paper but suffers from some feathering and bleeding which Bank Paper does not.
