DanteKonpaku34 He wasn't really a pussy though (Shinji), he was pretty damn ballsy for a 14 year old with abandonment issues, and cripplingly low self esteem. Not to mention how well he juggled his mounting issues and the fate of the world on his shoulders (as everyone around he slowly died toward the end). I don't get why makes people call him a 'pussy', he does what he has to do, he just really doesn't want to do it, and isn't accustomed to such terrifying scenarios. This character is similar, set-up wise. A 13 year old (manga) who hasn't discovered himself yet, he's uncomfortable with himself because he knows he's hollow inside, and reads for pretentious, meaningless reasons, and reading is all he really does that makes him different. He doesn't defend himself because he's afraid of Nakamura (female>male rape happens, by the way), and she's very aggressive/overpowering to someone as submissive as him. These kind of people exist... they aren't pussies for the sake of being pussies, it's just how they're hardwired. As fun as it can be to watch a Kamina character, it doesn't mean there's no room for different characters to take the lead once in a while.

Because she's so intense and unique. And I think a lot of guys have a fantasy of being fawned over and preyed upon like this by such an overbearing, beautiful woman. She's an unforgettable character, and there's no one else quite like her in anime. Yes, she's slightly insane, but he's a little on the weird side too, and they end up being perfect for each other. My favorite part is at the end with the flashing montage of their future together, where she clearly changes him and they continue to "act out" in society together, probably wreaking more havoc similar to the classroom incident. Men (certain types of men, anyway) are drawn to women like this because of their psychological complexity, high intelligence, creativity and openness, and unpredictability. Not to mention the tragic element that's always present in people like this when you dig deep enough. They burn bright and they're beautiful predators, and you never forget them, even when you emerge so damaged and hopelessly addicted and haunted by your time with them that no one else can ever hope to compare.
