I was a crew chief with the 40th ARRS. We moved to NKP from Udorn in July of 1971. Prior to that we kept two birds on alert there and at Ubon. To all who served there before and after I was there, I salute you. Welcome home.

I was at NKP in TMO at the aerial port. Arrived Christmas day 72 just in time for Linebacker II. 75 miles from N. Vietnam wasn't far. We could hear and feel the B-52's as they released their bombs!

My late father's name was Mark Earl Ketchledge. He was stationed at NKP in 70-71, I believe. There is a photo at 1:03 if you pause it, the third man in from the left at the table in what appears to be a Christmas party of sorts appears to be him but I cannot be sure. I'm looking for anybody who served with him. All I know is he was a mechanic on the OV-10 and was there for a little less than a year. He passed in Feb/2015 and I have no physical memorabilia or records of his service. Would love to communicate with anybody familiar with my dad. Miss him dearly. His father was a waist gunner in a B17 in WWII and was shot down over Germany and a POW for a year. Both men make me very proud. We have plenty of info on my grandfathers service but not my father. He had his reasons and anyone who knew him can probably guess what they were. Either way I am seeking some confirmation. I have seen pics of him during his time there so I know he was there and when.

Wow, more great video of various a/c! A-1s, A-26K, OV-10, C-123, HH-3s, HH53s, thanks for sharing! As an AF firefighter, a/c was one of my great interests. What did drivers have to do to get to drive Bob Hope or one of the ladies around?? Thanks for sharing it all!

@@RockNRollJeezus The unit I was assigned to was a ground based radar site. Your father worked on aircraft, very different. Besides, I left @April of '70, probably earlier than your father arrived. Sorry I couldn't be of any help.
