I spent two weeks at NKP in July 1970 on a TDY from DaNang. We went there to do get an F4 ready to fly out of there. It had taken battle damage and had been repaired by a RAM team. @@billdavis9734 My late father's name was Mark Earl Ketchledge. He was stationed at NKP in 70-71, I believe. There is a photo at 0:51 if you pause it, the third man in from the left at the table in what appears to be a Christmas party of sorts appears to be him but I cannot be sure. I'm looking for anybody who served with him. All I know is he was a mechanic on the OV-10 and was there for a little less than a year. He passed in Feb/2015 and I have no physical memorabilia or records of his service. Would love to communicate with anybody familiar with my dad. Miss him dearly. His father was a waist gunner in a B17 in WWII and was shot down over Germany and a POW for a year. Both men make me very proud. We have plenty of info on my grandfathers service but not my father. He had his reasons and anyone who knew him can probably guess what they were. Either way I am seeking some confirmation. I have seen pics of him during his time there so I know he was there and when.

Was stationed at NKP 70-71 in Supply. "Can't fly without Supply" Worked receiving in local purchase. Young stupid kid then. Had a good time but we worked our butts off. Ten and twelve hour days in many cases. But I would not have traded it for the world. Got out at Travis upon return and then came back in six months later and retired in 88. Have many pictures and would love to hear from someone who was stationed with me. Sure wish we were treated differently on the herbicide issue. I know for a fact we stored it. No proof. Oh well.......

'Frank Thompson My dad was exposed to the herbicide there, he was with the 556th Redhorse in 69-70. Sounds like they sprayed it on the base to keep foliage down, and he ran a bulldozer, and worked in areas that were sprayed.

I was Stationed at NKP from April 1974 to May 1975, with US Army Satcom, I know all you guys who departed Thailand NKP must have give it a thousand comments wish would have stayed longer. The Army was like it was always, but down town NKP after hours was ton of xx rated fun and Pot was great

I was stationed at NKP from Jan 71 o Dec 71. I was a in charge of computer maintenance for base supply and we also serviced the teletype machines located in the supply warehouses. Can you tell me if the warehouses were within 500 meters of the base perimeter. I can't remember much about the geography of NKP and have no pictures. George Black 715 285-5922.

There's quite a bit of bogus stuff in it. I think I have it stored away somewhere. Much of what he describes about life on the base either isn't true or was a major exaggeration.

Bob, I was there on temporary duty from the 1st Mobile Comm group in Sept 69 to Jan 70. I was assigned to the GCA radar unit near the flight line as an air traffic controller. But I did much more than that. Guard duty on the site and near the perimeter, M60 assistance, moving drums and anything they needed to help the cause. NKP was a most difficult assignment but most don't believe what I say about what I had seen in a short period of time. Did you do all other things while there also? Now I have prostate cancer and can't get the VA to believe me either. They say I need evidence that I worked the perimeter or thereabouts. If anyone can verify to me in writing that yes we all pitched in for guard duty and other stuff I would appreciate it. Tom Lorenzetti
