Nala is such an adventurous kitty!! My cat would never have even stuck her head out of the carrier! The animals are so cute, especially the little ones. I have friends who's home bombs right up against John Muir's estate home in Martinez Ca. They bought the lot because they didn't want neighbors around them, and because the property is a state or national park, they don't have to worry about anyone building. They did this 30yrs ago, when land in San Francisco Bay Area was a bit cheaper. Very smart. John Muir is certainly considered one of our "local" heroes.

I love this latest series of videos from Scotland, It’s as good as being there and it provides a great snapshot of local lifestyle and scenery. The personal touch of family interaction, (especially ‘Gran’) are interesting and fun. Nala is a remarkable cat, her ability to adapt to any situation never fails to amaze me. We have an Alpaca farm nearby, where I bought some fingerless mittens years ago. They are soft, and keep your digits nice and toastie. One of our cats likes to kidnap them. I think she can smell the alpaca on the. She goes nuts with them. Nala just chillin with her legs out always makes me laugh. And your mum is awesome!

What a neat experience to walk with the alpacas. And it’s interesting that Nala doesn’t shy away from something that big. Just gives them a sniff and a kiss! There are several large teepees behind the visitors center at Yosemite national park. Sometimes the indigenous people come and have their ceremonies there. It’s fascinating to watch. When you come to California I’ll take you there. We’ll have a great time. Say hi to your mom and grand. Take care

Seems like you can walk anywhere in Scotland. I can't think of many places in the states where you can leave your backyard, trek through a natural pasture/tree area and on to a beach. Maybe I don't get out enough? Thank you for sharing. Scotland is on my bucket list because of your videos. Maybe you should consider starting your own tour company?

Scotland has a thing called "right to roam" so in general you can go anywhere you are not expressly told you cant. Most beaches are open to the public in all of the UK and in England we do have a good network of public footpaths in the countryside and a lot of forests and moorland are open access. So overall we do have a lot of access to the countryside but Scotland is the best country in the UK for access.

I live in Martinez California. The home of John Muir is located here. Many of his descendants still live in the area. It's very cool to have this connection with Dean (also my father's name! ) and Nala. It would seem that Dunbar is good at producing characters that share the love of the planet and its inhabitants.
