@@NamastefromUSA As you mentioned that you are studying Vedas, has this verse caught your attention. isn't it interesting .( There was neither non-existence nor existence then; Neither the realm of space, nor the sky which is beyond; What stirred? Where? In whose protection? There was neither death nor immortality then; No distinguishing sign of night nor of day; That One breathed, windless, by its own impulse; Other than that there was nothing beyond. Darkness there was at first, by darkness hidden; Without distinctive marks, this all was water; That which, becoming, by the void was covered; That One by force of heat came into being; Who really knows? Who will here proclaim it? Whence was it produced? Whence is this creation? Gods came afterwards, with the creation of this universe. Who then knows whence it has arisen? Whether God's will created it, or whether He was mute; Perhaps it formed itself, or perhaps it did not; Only He who is its overseer in highest heaven knows, Only He knows, or perhaps He does not know. -Rigveda 10.129

Perfect way to eat with hands- 1) Use all your fingers to mix up your food and to bring up food near to your mouth 2) When mixed up food is near your mouth(touching your lips), use your thumb to push the food into your mouth instead of using all the fingers into the mouth. P. S. - Even DJ bro didn't use thumb to put food into the mouth (at least it seems so in the video). I explained the process with good intention. Video quality has definitely improved. Frequency of videos must be increased for faster growth of the channel.

@@Runswithkari Listening to the others' opinion is an art and a quality of successful person. You guys will definitely get success in whatever you do with this quality. We are happy to see your fondness for our culture and thankful to you for the same from the bottom of our heart. I suggest you to read Shreemad Bhagwat Geeta. Shreemad Bhagwat Geeta is considered to be the gist of all the 4 Vedas. Shreemad Bhagwat Geeta, holiest book of our culture, is actually a part of Mahabharata epic. Mahabharata epic although being very old, is the most relevant book in today's era. So, if you understand Shreemad Bhagwat Geeta, you will understand Hindu dharma. And for better understanding of Shreemad Bhagwat Geeta, you should read Mahabharata as Shreemad Bhagwat Geeta is a part of it and also it will explain the context of knowledge of Shreemad Bhagwat Geeta. (As it is very long epic, it may take 6 months to 2 yrs to read fully. But do it.)

@@Runswithkari Came here to provide hand eating technique feedback, since it was requested lol. I second what Gyan says: By leaving out your index or pinky finger, the amount you can scoop is reduced. The scoop is passive and the thumb is active. You know those ice cream scoops where you squeeze a lever and it pushes everything that’s compacted out? That analogy comes to mind. Having grown up eating this way, I definitely find it more tasty and enjoyable to be able to take bigger, more densely packed mouthfuls and finish the food in front of me faster. Also, in parts of the Middle East, like Saudi and Yemen they use their full palm to create a ball of rice, not just the finger tips: but this is frowned on by other hand eaters as “uncivilized” (ironic because fork/spoon eaters would consider all hand eating “unsanitary” lol). Not to be hard on Kari only, but as Gyan mentions, DJ’s technique also needs some work: maybe it’s a regional or north vs south thing, but there’s no need to supinate the whole hand ie turn it upside down if you have the thumb pushing technique down - but for that you have to pack the mouthful more densely so it doesn’t break apart before it rolls into your mouth off your fingertips. It also depends on how sticky or runny the food is, what kind of rice is being used, like basmati or something else, etc. Ok that was way too much analysis 😆

In hindu culture it is promoted to eat using hand. There is scientific reason too when you eat food with your fingers it releases digestive juices and enzymes. Also, its good exercise for fingers, it also enhances your food taste experience.

Yes I quite enjoy eating this way and do it often now. 😊♥️

You shall have to mix the rice with sabji/curry with your four finger and push the food with your thumb to place the food in your mouth. You need not to put your whole finger in your mouth. Try this you will find it more comfortable. Touch is the one of the five senses. So once you touch the food with the finger ,the digestive saliva comes out in your mouth. That is the reason why we eat food with clean hand.

The good thing about eating with your hands is when you eat with a spoon, you feel the metal in your mouth whereas with hands, you feel your fingers and makes it feel more organic and more connected with food. But to each their own.
