Nice video Nambi. Very well explained. Looks like between Fort/Egmore and Beach, the 4th line would be the up line for both express trains and MRTS. so that the last line towards east would be the down line for MRTS. Fantastic planned by SR. We should really admire them in how they have planned in view of the RBI land not being available. 3rd line would be the down line, perhaps, from Beach to Egmore, for express trains.

@@KS-yk2mh no that will become worst for MRTS...it will become bottle neck for frequency....we need 10 min frequency during peak hours

​@@NambiValavan No, it would be a permanent up line for both express and MRTS. Else, MRTS cannot operate smoothly. 3rd line would anyway be the down line for expresses. It is only for a short 1 km distance and hence shouldnt be a big problem for MRTS operations. Express trains are few and far between in this section.

@@karagis75 It wouldnt. Except when express trains come through (which would be few and far between), there should be no issue. Anyway, automatic signalling is going to be installed. Hence one train every 1 minute can pass through this section, at least theoritically. In practice, one train every 5 minutes can be allowed to run. So dont worry. MRTS operations wouldnt be compromised

Mostly it will be from Chennai Beach only. My personal wish, if the work getting delayed means temporarily they should start from Chennai Fort, it be very useful for passengers

Great video coverage with detail explaination - i think they will complete within 2 months fully. After park station towards egmore was platform only between 3 & 4 tracks but it looks like for EMU fast not for express trains! After park major realignment going to be done!

MRTS Single Track - after RBI UNDERPASS -In the Near Future MRTS will be taken over by CMRL . - Remaining station after Chintadripet will also be Elevated Station ( PARK TOWN, FORT & BEACH )till BEACH guess so. - My Suggestion would be that the CMRL should be planned for further extending up to the PERUMBUR Train station. i.e BROWN LINE #Mount to #Kurukkupetta #Perumbur Via Existing MRTS ( mount to beach) with fully elevated Train station ( VEKACHERY , PATK TOWN, FORT , BEACH , WASHERMANPET JUNCTION , KURUKKUPET JUNCTION , PERUMBUR JUNCTION

On the contrary not giving land will give rise to such problem. Trains will slow down or stop near the RBI because of the missing 4th line. RBI is increasing the risk by not giving that small piece of land

St Thomas Mount MRTS train service can be operate by next year only ( likely by March 2025 is my prediction ) as Metro work has to be finished in integrated portion between St Thomas Mount - Thillaiganga nagar stretch.

They are removing the foot over bridge in fort and assembling it to new fort over bridge. Same with park station and beach station. So that will take one week or 2 weeks. After that the over will be very fast .
