The ps1 namco museums are so meditative and comforting. I love compilations that go the extra mile to provide you with a context and reverence for the games included

I spent so much time as a kid playing Toypop on this collection. One of my favorite arcade games of all time, and one that you unfortunately don't hear about ever.

Are these titles compatible with PlayStation 2?
@supermariofan7720034 жыл бұрын
@@keironforbes9512 Of course they are! PS2 can play all PS1 games IIRC. I don't see why it would struggle with arcade collections.

@@supermariofan772003 Nope, incorrect. Toaplan Shooting Battle Vol 1 has issues with a PS2, Tiger Heli runs fine, but Twin Cobra/Kyukyoku Tiger will not run on a PS2. Gradius Deluxe Pack also has issues with Gradius II running too slowly.

Actually none of the Namco Museum's on the PS1 used arcade ROMS, they are all ports rebuilt from the ground up.

Bosconian would be my first choice for volume 1, because I love that bright green enemy gunship-sometimes in a hexagonal design.

Watching you get run over in Toy Pop 23:53 was just too hilarious for some reason. Dunno if I ever played this game but I found this compilation in an old storage box. I don't have my Playstation since about 1998, so I don't recall this game, either :D

oh yeah I had to ';collect em all' in this set! oh that book in the lounge, has like all kinds of crazy stats for every game! (dots/ghosts eaten in pac-man, insane little stats like that in addition to high scores) I did import a Japanese PS2 last month so I could get the encore disc and check it out, it's definitely on my list! but digging this series so far can't wait to see the others.
@Bloodreign12 жыл бұрын
I'm sure you found out Encore doesn't run properly on a PS2, games like Rolling Thunder and Wonder Momo don't run right on the console (They run slow). I'll eventually pick up Encore as I have Volumes 1, 3, 4, and 5 in my collection. Don't care for the Japanese Volume 2 as it has no Super Pac-Man, instead having Bomb Bee and Cutie Q on it, neither one nearly as fun as Super Pac-Man (thank goodness for Namco Museum Mega Mix Wii as it has Super Pac-Man on it, as well as Gaplus, but SPM controls wonky even with a classic controller, Gaplus doesn't control that well either). And prices on the US Volume 2 aren't too good.

Should have got the Pound HDMI PS1 cable it makes your PS1 games look a lot less fuzzy then crummy composite your using to record. Hyperkin makes one too. Too bad I lost games in a state wide flood so I have use ISOs of C and O in my PlayStation Classic because Vol 4 and 5 have become pricey.
@SVT5124 жыл бұрын
ya, dont have a capture device for HDMI. so either people complain about this or pointing my camera at the screen :P There are alot of things I should get, suggest you move along if you dont like the recording method :P

I think the new Namco compilation just doesn't compare to these ones on the PS1. The PS1 compilations definitely have more charm. I think they should just remake the Namco PS1 compilations in one package.
@Bloodreign12 жыл бұрын
That's because due to magazines crapping on Namco Museum Vol 4 and 5, which had the more obscure and interesting (and best) games on them, Namco is too scared to put them on collections. I remember reading EGM, and they absolutely lambasted Volumes 4 and 5, calling the games boring (scraping the bottom of the barrel as they called it), they couldn't be more dead wrong in their lives. In my humble opinion, Volumes 4, 5, and Encore had Namco's best stuff they had put out at the time these games were new.
