The people that are still watching your channel aren’t “van people” or “cabin people” or “build and create people”. We are “Eamon and Bec people” and we watch because we’re connected to you and your lives. You inspire and are such a comfortable space to be each Sunday and we want to see every aspect of your lives. I think we will be so sad if the baby is not in every single episode. But we also honor your privacy so you do you!

Everything is relative. I'm sure they will loose some (possibly) and gain some. That's just what happens when a channel moves away from "status quo". Their "gamble" with going from vanlife to cabinlife worked out, and im sure this will also. I followed "la vagabonde" from when they had single digits thousands of subscribers until little after they had their first child. They did nothing wrong but family focus is not for me. But even if they maybe lost me and a few more, they gained substantially more then they lost. They are now around 2 million i think. No matter what people do in regards to subscribing, its not a reflection on them and their family. Its a reflection of content. Same as if your favorite tv series suddenly changed it formula. Maybe you continue to watch or maybe you don't. No matter subscritpion status, I'm happy they get to live life as they want themselves, not based on what others want them to do. And even if the channel "tanks" (and i don't think it will), they will still have their family, maybe just different jobs.

These are some questions to ask to help pick the perfect baby name: Can you see it on their name tag in preschool? Can you see them introducing themselves at a bar in college? Can you see it sitting on their desk as a CEO? I think it helps you remember that you’re naming an adult, not a child.

So happy for you both. As an attorney for more than 30 years and running across all sorts of names of other attorneys and clients, this is something I have given a lot of thought. I suggest that you consider not only what this baby name will be but how it will come across as an adult if they want to be taken seriously. So many names are cute for babies and kids but not so cute as an adult which is going to be the majority of the baby's life. Plus, ease of spelling and not just something funky that will always be misspelled is a consideration. Best luck from Texas!
@effullgent

ease of spelling i think is very important! my husbands name was misspelled on important documents when he migrated here as a baby and that one mistake has given him so many problems during his citizenship process as an adult but he has also had it misspelled on school documents where it unenrolled him one semester and it was a whole problem. something i personally never thought of before then

Louder for those in the back.... this is the worst repeated myth about homeschooled kids. I have 4, all homeschooled, and they're the most social kids on the planet. They play soccer, are involved at our church, have friends of all ages, and are super outgoing. Best of all, we are not bound by teaching only certain subjects and can let their interests guide their studies. Now that mine are teens and teens, it's so nice to see how amazing homeschool has really been for them.

I also have ADHD as well as my oldest son. For me, it's been a super power raising 4 boys. I have tons of natural energy, and it helped me channel it all in managing all their schedules, appts, sports stuff and keeping all the chores done. We don't take meds, instead we channel it into being productive. I feel that too many people r given meds, when all they need to do is learn how to use it in fun and useful ways. Thank u for sharing that Eamon 💓

Watching you now pregnant, vibrant, with SO much vitality is even more emotional to watch - I am crying the happiest tears for you. I know this was a very baby-related video (duh!) but I just want to say how much I appreciate Eamon's candid thoughts on losing inspiration after some of the challenges of travelling. I travelled for a year, and it was amazing and incredible, but it was also very challenging and I often felt guilty near the end knowing how excited I was for mundane things like having all your bathroom gear at your sink, instead of fishing through a bag every single day for every little thing. It's nice to hear that these are common experiences, and that your travel goals can change.

Bec I had my daughter at age 33 also. So many of my friends had children before me and I wondered if 33 was too late. But now at 41, she’s 8, and I’m glad we waited because my daughter has the best version of me I could give. So as you move along this pregnancy trust your gut! You’re at an age (and especially after defeating cancer) where you’re your best self. The only tip I have is to get a great pediatrician that will respond to texts or emails immediately. Trust your gut and trust your pediatrician! Everyone’s opinions especially the old wives tales are moot points.

Baby absolutely has his/her own opinion on what kind of sounds help out it to sleep, what bottles or milk work best, pacifiers, swaddlers, movement for soothing…even diapers, wipes and diaper cream. We went into it researching everything and picked “the best products”. Most of which my first baby didn’t like or it didn’t work for her. We had our second thinking, we been through it once and would be all set. Nope, she also had her own needs, and preferences.

We are about to have our first grandchild, a granddaughter, in two months. Her name will be more traditional-Aubrey. So watching our daughter go through pregnancy, and remembering when I was pregnant, totally get some of these questions, and even answers. I will say that I have a friend who, many years ago, had cancer. She fought, thankfully came out on the other end, and is still with us. She calls her birthdays her “get to be’s”. She said it’s because she gets to be the next age. May we all have fabulous get to be’s and celebrate the fact that we get to be another year older! 💗

I was 33 when I got pregnant with my son and turned 34 during my pregnancy. It was the beginning of me liking my birthday again because I knew every birthday from then my son would be with me and that just made it fun and exciting again like it was when I was a kid. I'm so happy for you both and your family. Happy birthday and next year your baby with be outside your body joining in on the fun, but for now they will be enjoying their build pool and all the sounds they can hear from inside. I still think that is the coolest thing. My son still reacts to songs he listened to when I was pregnant with him. It's the cutest.

As a young adult who was homeschooled my whole life, I’d have it no other way. I was able to see so much more of the US because we could travel during the off season, and I was able to make friends from all over the place. I think there is a right way and a wrong way to do things, but being involved with my community was never something I lacked. And I had a completely personalized education which was amazing.

I homeschool mine and we absolutely love it! We have zoo and aquarium memberships and we go when everyone else is at school & work and have the whole place to ourselves. Same with parks, museums, historical sites, national parks, etc. They take classes and make friends of ALL ages absolutely everywhere they go. They’re the least socially awkward kids I know. Right now there on break so they’re at grandmas house on the ranch helping grandpa with his irrigation lines and helping their older cousin build fence, in between they ride horses and swim in the creek. They’re living the good life that’s for sure!

@@jinamg247 I mean it sounds nice but kids at school go on excursions to museums and zoos anyway; maybe it means less time with peers and more time spent with older people and adults. After watching La Vagabonde for years, i really don't see an issue with raising your kids around cameras as long as there's nothing 'posey' about it! My family took handy-cams everywhere when we were kids and it so nice to watch those videos back now! :) I think as long as a parents don't let the kids in on the 'success' or 'fame' aspect of being on KZbin, it can be treated as just documenting lovely memories ♥️

It's a double-edged sword. I had some issues when I was a kid and random people my parents knew would somehow know me. Also, those videos were likely only shared with you and maybe close family or friends. With 1.2 million people, these videos (and the kids) are being shown to many people who don't "know" them. I hope Eamon and Bec use some privacy for the little one that has no consent to being shown.

I agree. It also drives me crazy to see when parents pack for the hospital as if they're going on a 2 week trip. You'll never use 99% of the stuff you packed. You'll never use 75% of the fancy gadgets you get at the shower. Most of the clothes will be outgrown within the first month. Go simple, go minimalistic!

My thought, too, that they’re already pretty minimalist. But the excitement of first time parents can sometimes carry people away. And you know what, that’s okay, too. I’m about to have my third kid and I’m honestly a little sad that I’m not *more* excited about all the baby gear. Now I’m all about logistics: transporting 3 kids on foot, in the car, sleeping arrangements, fitting us around the dining table, etc.

People need to start buying onesies in assorted sizes and diapers in larger sizes for baby showers. This newborn purchase spree does no good for most, since babies grow so quickly and the hospital provides a lot of newborn supplies to start parents out.
