Less talented artists will always spend that money because they can’t rely on their talent. It’s never going to change into some pure, organic culture bruh. Only extremely talented artists, artists with connections, & artists who work way harder than everyone else can get on without paying. Labels successfully builds artists who can’t even sing or rap. You are right but only if new artist actually study and understand what being independent truly means. The blueprint has already been laid by Skywalker Records, No Limit Records, Cash Money Records, and Strange Music. @3star2nr2 жыл бұрын
Yeah the game has changed that's why u can't compare rappers. In Jay Z days you had to have huge money to get on radio and cut cds. Today you can build a pretty badass studio for under 3k and pay 29.00 and be up worldwide distribution... The pros to jay z time was way less competition and if u had stacks like Jay u could buy the whole damn industry. That doesn't exist now. 65000 songs are uploaded to spotify per day now... the average listen time is 5 secs... Back in the day if u sold a cd for 10.00 u got that cash instant. Even if u only had 1 good track u still made 10/unit. Now u have to wait 4 months to get $4.00/1000 streams... It's literally a marketing gift to extra money from artists and get us to do free marketing for the streaming platforms...
@3star2nr2 жыл бұрын
But dread dude was right it's all about perspective. A true artist will put in the work but their career ain't gonna pop off till 40. They also aren't gonna be on hot 97 or the grammies... A person just trying to stack paper needs to follow what dread dude is saying. Fly to Vegas pay dude a stack get on rap caviar. Then get a meet with the AR take whatever they give u. Go on tour be relevant for a year or two make 2-5mil and switch to product. Both paths aren't wrong or right they are just paths
