Both have relatives who are marines (Garp & Bellemere). Both are the younger/youngest foster sibling. Both have an adoptive mother (Dadan & Bellemere). Both are extrovert person. Such similarities make Luffy and Nami different but same. They have such wonderful chemistry. They care about each other's well-being. I also feel Luffy likes older girls (not as old and yandere as Hancock) and Nami might have a feelings towards Luffy. So I'm not surprised they end up in the same house at the EoS.

They are adding Oda approved filler that was not in the manga into the recent episodes: 1. Nami screaming at Kaido that Luffy is not dead. Then saying “Luffy I know you can hear me. Keep your word as always.” Then his heart starts beating again and goes into his next transformation. 2. Hiyori asking Zoro if he will return to Wano and that she personally cleaned him when he was in his coma. 3. The woman Sanji saved from Queen asking Sanji if he will come back to see her and that she loves his cooking. It is also the first time he never reacted to an attractive woman in a completely normal way. So Oda making plans for the crew after the journey is through.

Not only did Oda confirm there will be no romance among the straw hats, but I think if there was romance between Luffy and Nami, it would ruin the dynamic. The reason they work together is they just see each other as people helping with each others goals, and in the long run, get to know each other better. Nami will never fully agree with Luffy, but she knows how he is. He will do anything he sets his mind to, and she follows along with it for that reason. And also because this will help with the world map. Luffy has also shown numerous times, both among his crew and strangers, he does not care about how people are thinking or anything about their pasts. But what he does care about, is when someone is sick or sad. But if someone hurts another person in front of him for a vile reason, whether stranger or crewmate, he will freak you up.

While I don't shame people for shipping what they like, I sincerely feel bad for those who ship these two. Considering that Luffy is not at all interested in romance (besides adventure) and has never been, plus the fact that oda said the straw hats consider each other family, this is never gonna become a thing in the series.

While I get where your coming from, recently the chance of lunami becoming canon has been increasing because of things like nami being the only one wearing a crown or her wearing a shirt say weather queen on it while luffy had a skull with the word king on it, or nami being shown sitting by luffys side being the only one to be wearing royal clothes with him and even sitting on the throne with him. And personally i like ships like lunami and frobin because I like not knowing If it will be canon or not which adds to the fun of shipping them! :) I get why you don't ship them and yk what that's totally valid, as long as you aren't actively hating on lunami fans or any shippers in the community in general I respect and understand your opinion 😊👍

@@lunami3178 That just sound silly all over. That's what i meant by "I feel bad for them" because these kind of shippers tend to cling to anything. Like finding symbolism on a random color spread. And while I would never say that people shouldn't do whatever they like (as long as it doesn't hurt anybody, of course 👀) and I'm the first one to love the art these things sprout; I find it's kinda disrespectful towards Oda, like saying he doesn't know his own story/characters or something. He already said that they see each other as family, and the writing supports that, so reading between lines that don't exist feels desperate. That being said, they look cute both as brother and sister as they could as a couple. For me that's a Win-Win.

@tale7955 yes I totally see your point! The thing is that oda actually doesn't mind nami and luffy being shipped! A sbs revealed oda likes to read a one piece spin off called "onepiece love romance" which sounds silly I know but the two main characters/love interests are named after luffy and nami! Well Nami dubbed voice is done by a female, Sanji is done by a male and Luffy's is done by a female which is probably why his voice throws u off at first. His VA is actually one of the best dubbed VA's.
