This scene is perfect, PERFECT. Emily's rage leading to a quiet desperation as she finally lets her walls tumble and accepts help from others. Inaki's quiet fury. Luffy never awnsers back or tries to talk her down, he stops her hurting herself, agrees with her, then tells her He'll help her without a second of thought. All the time hes Seithing with rage at someone hurting his friend. And then, with the music building slowly, a Perfect Manga/Anime shot of the others agreeing to help instantly. I said at the start that no matter what, my opinion of this show rested on how they handled this scene. its THE scene that built One Peice, a show about found family coming together to be more than their pain. And they nailed it. while Emily was amazing here, Inaki was perfect, showing the deeply scary side of Luffy. Luffy is a lovable goofball, but he can be TERRIFING if you hurt the people he loves. The Show makes mistakes is isn't perfect, but unlike so many other adaptaions of it's kind which try to hide where it came from, it's definately One Piece.

This scene was truly filled with emotion and made me cry when Nami started yelling while stabbing herself. One suggestion I have is that her change of heart would've hit harder if the tension leading up to her request was pushed a bit further as it happened in the anime, with her yelling at Luffy to go away until breaking into tears, acknowledging losing control over the situation, unable to do anything anymore, and thus, asking Luffy for help.

All of the cast were perfect; no words, no explanation, just "Help me." "Of course I will." "Let's Go."/"Right." This was Anime adaptation done right in a way nothing has every pulled of, until now.

nami screaming arlongs name in anger and sadness as she stabs her self. Goodness she executed it so well it hits right in the gut😢 her desperate voice when she said help me was so good 😭 since in the live action no one knows about her sacrifice unlike in the manga, arlongs betrayal kinda hit harder bc she literally has nothing anymore. at that moment it dawned on her that village hates her, that she wasted more than half of her life as a prisoner and with the betrayal, she might as well spend the rest of her days as arlongs errand girl since she wont be able to pay. man i love nami's character so much.

oooooh, that makes more sense. i thought she was yelling “all along”, which i guess kinda fits?? but arlong is much more obvious and i feel dumb lmao

Emily Rudd NAILED this. I didn’t even see the original. I’m not a big anime fan, I just watched this cause my boyfriend is one piece obsessed and he asked me to. But this is incredible acting. I cried, i had a whole breakdown. Amazing is all i can say.

I just absolutely love this venerability & strength shown by both characters in this scene.

I just went and watched the anime scene and damn did the live action ever nail it here. Down to the staging of where the other guys were standing and the 3 shot panel.

I love how the music mirrors his first "Of course I will". Just makes the line stand out that much harder.

This was the scene. The one they needed to get 100% right for it to be proper One Piece. And they absolutely nailed it.

This video probably won't be up for long, but thanks for putting the whole scene up properly. Needed a boost this morning.

When I first started watching the One Piece anime, I didn’t really like it and I thought about quitting. However, I decided to push forward just a bit more before stopping and when I saw this scene for the first time, it took my breath away. After all the buildup, seeing the raw emotion of this scene, and the walk to Arlong Park, I had never felt such a drastic shift in my opinion and vowed to see how deep the One Piece rabbit hole went. After years of catching up, not a single part of me regrets it because I kept going and was rewarded with one of the greatest stories I’ve ever witnessed.

They kept all the goofy shit and still somehow made it believably serious. Luffy just being fucking livid is scary here

Man I hope the live action keeps going. So many big moments. If it gets there (doubt it with the budget they go with)...id love to see Whitebeard.
@peterstoric65609 ай бұрын
Good chance they’ll be a budget increase, especially considering how well this season did. Just take a look at stranger things, first season cost 6 million per episode and 4th cost about 30 because they saw how popular it was. One piece definitely deserves a higher budget in every way
@Ghettofinger8 ай бұрын
@@peterstoric6560 Yeah, but One Piece is already at $18 million per episode right now, their budget is already through the roof.

People don't realise that faithful and 1 to 1 to source doesn't mean good adaptation. If you liked the anime or manga version so much just go consume it that way. The Live Action did its own thing while maintaining the One Piece feel to it (hell it was more faithful than the anime in a lot of scenes), it's an amazing work and one of the best Live Action adaptations of a comic series ever.

This was literally one of the best scenes in the whole Season, IMO ❤ The implication that Nami was going to stab her arm until the tattoo was gone is heartbreaking, as she probably would have lost a lot of blood in the process 💔🥺 One of the best things about this series overall is definitely the acting
