I am an advanced heart failure and transplant cardiologist at Memorial Cardiac and Vascular Institute. I care for patients with a spectrum of cardiomyopathies and heart failure. I specialize in treating those with advanced or end-stage heart failure, aiming to slow the progression of the disease. I treat and manage their care with state-of-the-art medical and device therapies, including heart transplantation and mechanical heart pumps.
Throughout my life, I have unfortunately lost many family members to heart disease. Growing up I felt robbed of the chance to meet my grandparents and other older relatives and witnessed my father’s heart attack when I was young. This family history provoked my interest in both medicine and cardiology. I chose to specialize in advanced heart failure because of the opportunity to develop long-term relationships with patients and to be part of a multidisciplinary team of experts who are passionate and driven to care for this special population.
Heart failure is a chronic disease and following patients over many years gives me the privilege of learning about them and their disease process. This allows me to better treat them with personalized, individualized treatment plans.
Delivering compassionate and thorough care is incredibly important to me. I strive to be empathetic and get to know my patients on a personal level. My goal is always to establish a partnership in which we are both working towards getting them in the best state of health for as long as possible.
