Looks like another winner from Taylor. I ve never picked one up that I Didn t want to take home and join my 2015 814ce- love it! Always lusting for more. This extra cut away sound hole is really interesting.

Today I have got a 816ce builders edition. It was purchased from sweelee srore in Singapore. It seems that It discharges process sound. I have Martin HD28e and Yamaha LL 16 . This 816 ce is the melody king. Martin is the wildest. Yamaha LL16 gives crispy sound. I will play Martin at morning. Yamaha at noon and Taylor at night. Hurrah!!!

Another excellent video - thank you. The guitar rings with a slighty wispy definition - which I prefer.

Can you list the DADGAD chord progression or is that too much to ask ?

The cutaway aspect of Taylor's 'innovative' new design is identical to my Benjamin Scoop cutaway I've been using since 2006/7: you can see it in many of Mike Dawes' videos. This type of cutaway using a bent piece of wood inserted into the corner of a standard guitar was probably first conceived by Theo Scharpach with some similar ideas by Uchida many decades ago. The sound-port in the scoop's centre is also an idea used by several makers. I am a one person operation as are many of the other actual innovators.

That cutaway/sound hole......seems like the an answer to a question that didn't need to be asked. Acoustic guitars have sounded just fine with a normal sound hole. Taylor was just trying too hard with this idea.

Honestly, that guitar sounded a little muddy. Taylors, like all acoustics are hit and miss.
