Just got a new 912ce Builders Edition and it’s a dream guitar. The Grand Concert size it’s just perfect, not too big and not too small. It’s extremely ergonomic, fits like a glove, and the sound it’s just incredibly amazing all around.
Thank you for making my 816ce . What a joy to play ❤

In the UK there are now guitars being built with lacewood back and sides which is harvested from plane trees which grow commonly round here - the wood looks lovely. Only small companies using it at the moment though and quite expensive.

I love the 816ce bro. Although i cant afford now. But man, i cant wait to get my hands on one. I been playing since i was 7 and im 32 now. Im a writer and a big fan of guitars. 816ce builders edition is an absolute beautiful instrument, i mean wow the sound it has is so unique. I think its really on point with action, intergration as well as, an amazing equalized treb to balance with the bass. Lol "sound port cut away". I love it. Im dieing to have it.

I have a Taylor 714ce V-brace and I have to say the sound is amazing. The v-brace makes all the difference in the sound. I have other Taylor acoustic guitars they don't come close to the v-brace. Andy really made some genius improvements to acoustics. Never got to play the Builder Edition yet but would really love to play and maybe own it.

Taylor's 'innovative' cutaway design is identical to my Benjamin Scoop cutaway I conceived in 2006/7. You can see the design in many of Mike Dawes' videos. This type of cutaway using a bent piece of wood inserted into the corner of a standard guitar was probably first conceived by Theo Scharpach, with similar ideas executed by Uchida, several decades ago. The sound-port in the centre of a sloped cutaway is also an idea used by various makers for some time. I am a one person operation as are many of the other actual innovators.

Most important is that has Benjamin cutaway got patented? If not, Taylor can use it.
@nickbenjamin65274 жыл бұрын
@@jackleung7254 I can't prevent anyone using the design and if asked about using it by other makers I just ask them to attribute it to me if they got the idea from me. I'm just pointing out here that this idea did not pop into Austin Powers' mind from nowhere: the cutaway is identical to my design not just in concept but in shape. Hole kind of ruins the look for me...;-)

So i just got my custom 12 fret GA Cocobolo back and sides with lutz top. They lost the back and sides i picked out said they found right after and made guitar with back and sides i didn’t choose. Made me change maple binding saying they couldn’t do it with cocobolo anymore as it doesn’t glue properly because of the oils from cocobolo and the hardness of maple. They didn’t ship the loose pick guard as requested. I couldn’t get V Class bracing as they couldn’t do it on 12 fret. So needless to say I’ve sold my other Taylors and keeping this new 12 fret cocobolo for now but I’ll never buy another Taylor again I’m going with Santa Cruz from now on or at least for next 2 guitars starting with an H13

Murray Wilson I live in Australia nowhere near any repair Technicians, my action on my 150e has become way to high since I bought it 4 years ago ( 13/64ths or 5mm to be precise ). I am very conversant with correct truss rod adjustments and saddle heights which are not the way to correct this action. I am unwilling to freight the guitar via risky freight and have contacted Taylor support with the issue however they refuse to help me with shims to reset the neck even though I am very capable to do this work. I am gutted by this lack of support as a retired musician I expected so much more from Taylor . Now I will have to try and manufacture my own shims and just wear the condescending , dismissive emails I received back from Taylor guitar support in the US. Buyer beware, this is a common issue and they refuse to help other than say how specialised the shim work is and link you to their list of repair places.

I love the feel of the Taylor guitar neck it is an amazing guitar but they really need to abandon there pickup system and go with a high quality Fishman system and not the one that the controls are in the sound hole. I have two Martins and we have a Taylor at our Church and I really like the feel of the Taylor better than my Martins but I hate the the pre amp system on the Taylor
