They should make a NEW Nord Modular G3
@truecuckoo10 күн бұрын
Yeah they were ahead of time with the G2. Now is the time for such an instrument. They could start by recompiling the G2 software for modern computers 😬
@GizzyDillespee10 күн бұрын
That would be sooooo much work, and now there are native competitors such as VCV (and many others) and even some other hardware options (Urano, Zoia, etc)... so, that's a tough ask. The 2nd suggestion, to recompile NM G2 for modern systems, maybe that could make sense someday, as a nostalgic thing?
@psylencecy10 күн бұрын
@@truecuckoo in theory this shouldn't be too hard, given that the monophonic demo app works fine without the need for the actual hardware. mine works fine on win10.
@truecuckoo9 күн бұрын
@@psylencecy yeah with some level of windows emulation it is probably possible to get it to work on a Mac too. It probably wouldn’t take an intern that long to get it up and running on a modern Mac though. When a car manufacturer makes a car, they commit to something like 30 years of service. In this case I think when the software is like 75% of the product experience, they should’ve had the same mindset.

If they wanted to nearly go out of business again trying to placate the customers every need and desire I would agree. Maybe if they set a feature set and stuck with it only with paid expansions It would work.

Just don't understand how they can justify the increased price from the already expensive Nord Piano 5 with basically no real new feature that piano players want. A lot of sales BS like "It's compatible with Nord Speakers and has triple sensor keyboard". No need to get a Nord Piano 6 for that. At least they could have added some new Piano samples and increased the memory.

Still the same old unbalanced outputs, the same old keyboard (not even a Kawai refresh) and no built in audio interface. Apart from a few sliders and some minor tweaks, it’s hardly groundbreaking - more like the antique, formerly known as the RD2000 which got an EX stuck on it. It seems, in fairness to Nord, that all manufacturers are now increasingly hedging their bets rather than moving things on. Sign of the (economic?) times.

Underwhelming demo of an underwhelming product. The guy, within a few minutes, is struggling to think of anything new to say. So in desperation, he introduces the ‘new on this model’ triple pedal. Er, sorry to shatter the illusion but that’s been included on Nord pianos since the beginning. It’s the equivalent of a car manufacturer saying in 2025: “…..and in our latest model we introduce (drumrolls……) electric windows.
@MDZac20245 күн бұрын
Not true at all. The new pedal is Nord’s adaption of the much more robust (in build and function) Kawai GFP-3 that comes with the MP11SE.

As a piano player who has a Nord Piano 3.. I don't really see anything improved to the still plast-ey keys. A measly 2gb storage in 2025?? - is this even going to fit all pianos and any thing new? The strings had no effort to blend and I can hear the sharp cutoff - my 30 yeah old Yamaha Clavinova has better handling of strings... these are the only layers real piano players want, all these try hard 1970's synth things are never really used in real life.. piano players just want a good sounding string with the piano!! I dunno what others think but more dials and buttons for the PIANO but miss the point of a piano for piano players.. The same old white grand sample is getting really boring after 6 years... I like Nord but I hate the fact they turned into apple and give a little tiny bit of improvement each version.. but keep on ignoring the major flaws.. I think Clavia need to wake up because you can get a cheap keyboard (which has better more heavy keys) and just use a PC/Tablet and use VST's so the piano sound doesn't sound stale. (but hey Clavia don't read these comments as they are too good).

Buyer beware! No question Nord has the best samples. Unfortunately, the Fatar keybed is prone to breakdowns. My new Piano 5 (same keybed as Nord Piano 6) has been in repair for two months. At least 3 keys (some of the more frequently played above middle C) have lost their ability to accurately recognize a variety of velocity levels, defaulting to the loudest sample with only medium pressure. This makes it unplayable in performance or recording. Most disappointing.
