Jarkess I think cloudkicker could be in that genre. I mean I always thought of cloudkicker as some sort of like trancy type of metal not because it sounds like “trance” music but because it can put you in a trance because it’s mesmerizing lol it’s hard to describe but I think you described what I was thinking pretty well with that one. I think the same thing when I listen to Plini. Especially on selenium forest.

Plini boy rocks it hey. He’s up there as one of my fave’s. I’d have to put tosin abasi out in front though but only slightly. And based off of emotive creativity and progressive chord structures and arrangements. I feel tosin is more creative I think. But plini has this vai element to him I reckon. His bends and ‘talking’ with the stecato notes etc remind me of vai. But it’s all opinion. And it’s all good!

Dave Ssss G3 last year in Texas Petrucci had the flu. He looked pale and faint. He absolutely destroyed beyond anything I’ve ever seen or just about heard, stumbled off the stage probably to puke after his set, came back on for the g3 jam and was still astonishing. It was like Michael Jordan’s playoff performance with the flu but on a guitar somehow. All this to say, Petrucci doesn’t sit out even when he is sick.
