"Nanakuli Blues" - George Kahumoku's 13th Annual Maui Slack Key Guitar Workshop 2010

George Kahumoku's workshop students perform every year as their final workshop event at the Maui Slack Key Festival. What an honor it was for George and the workshop students to perform Nanakuli Blues here with the composer, Liko Martin, and slack key great, Jeff Peterson, falsetto master, Richard Ho'opi'i, ukulele master, Herb Ohta Jr. Sterling Seaton is also on the front row. These masters were among the teachers at the workshop.
This video takes place at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center where we opened a slack key festival.
Many people knew the altered Waimanalo Blues and George wanted the workshop to know the original song lyrics.
George's workshop is an annual June event. These finale songs are now performed at the Slack Key Show since we moved the entire event to the Napili Kai Beach Resort.
