For a more personal performance, for some very sad, search for the closing of government house 1997. Here, in 2009, it a joy just to know that HMHK Police were not disbanded. At least something of the supposed three-party system promise remains.

CaptainCool07 They adopted the uniform of the old Scottish Lowland regiments, trews instead of kilts. The old Gurkha regiments' Pipers also wore trews. I think the Hong Kong Police DO have their own tartan.

In face, the Hong Kong Police Band's colour is from Sir MacIntosh, who is, already mentioned by James, a lowland Scot. Wearing trousers is the tradition of the Lowlands.

Jimmy Lau 點可以比。人地 Edinburgh Tattoo 係英軍主理，軍隊做 piper 同 drummer 呢個trade 係要上 course 考試，然後再睇經驗表現，最後再派返你做教官一段時間先會比你上位。反之，97年回歸之後再無英軍蘇格蘭兵團係香港教風笛鼓樂或交流平台之後，班本地人個個就各自為政，搞到而家香港玩風笛個班個個都話自己係師父，而本地班聽眾大部份亦唔識分咩叫好咩叫垃圾，淨係見到套制服夠威就一味話係好野，結果繼續助長呢班香港唯一全職吹風笛嘅警察老屎忽，而佢地亦不斷繼續周圍出去啲其他制服團體去教壞人地子孫，而當然呢班子孫亦繼續當呢啲警察輔警之類嘅導師係神咁拜，搞成個 故步自封嘅old boys club 咁，你話重點會有進步，個圈點得唔死，點可以同 Edinburgh Tattoo 比。呢個事實有好多係香港玩風笛玩得好啲同多年資嘅都知，不過有繼續玩個班唔多唔少都要繼續睇班警察band面色做人，因為個圈話晒都係細同埋佢係地係唯一全職所以人人當佢地係老大，而好多時大家亦要分表演job搵水，簡單地講唔比面就無水搵唔叫你，所以無人敢公開寫呢啲真話出黎。
