One of the few times Will Lee took center stage on The Late Show for a music performance, here harmonizing with Nanci Griffith.
In glorious stereo.

Singing a duet with Nancy Griffith must make you feel like a million dollars. She sings so well and pays such attention to her partner. And her harmony work is the best in the world. Great job by Will.

I saw Nanci sing this live 4 times and many more times on tape. She ALWAYS felt the lyrics! She usually ended up teary eyed. Love her and love this Townes GREAT song!

I started watching this video and it was about a minute in when I realized "hey wait a second, that isnt Emmylou Harris, is it?". Then I read the description. I still have no idea who this girl is, should I? She sure studied Harris. I get the impression she was a fill-in guest. She's also quite good. BTW, when I was writing the word description I wanted to write it as 'discription' really badly even though I'm an excellent speller. Its enough to make one paranoid about dementia. ( in my 40's? ). Turns out its more likely to be something called wordnesia. - The act of mispelling common, relatively easy words. Well at least lets hope that's what it was.

Not a fill-in guest; she's a well-known performer.

@@dongiller Sorry, that turns out to be true. Id never heard of her and searched up Nancy with a 'Y' and came up with nothing, it was when i spelled it correctly that I saw her extensive body of work. My bad ( and Dave's intro of her being 'a favorite around here' ). Turns out she won a Grammy the following year for this album. Boy is my 'ignunce' showing.
