My theory on why did at book 27 did they just start introducing the culprit early in the books, may have something to do with a change of ghost writer that thought the average child doesn't have a attention span to wait for a bit to get to the culprit, so they started just laying it on them to avoid possibly boring young readers. Making motif more action than mystery to quote one quote "Get with the times."

Yeah thats definitely a good point that you make. I'm sure that even though ND mysteries have a very formulaic structure, the writing committee wanted to start making tiny adjustments to the plots to try to test the waters of changes for the readers at the time they were published. I must say, for me personally, the whodunit aspect is always the most interesting part of unraveling the mystery. When they take that away, I feel like I'm just left with a wild goose chase that takes all the fun out of it for me.
