Frixion pens are also good for marking up your pattern. I use the frixion highlighters to mark what cuts I've made or what steps I've completed. Especially handy with on point patterns! Then just iron the paper when you're done and the pattern is as good as new!

Really helpful information about some things I have heard the “controversial “ concerns about. I think I need to try them! Thank you...always enjoy your you tubes. Very well done.

With dark fabrics sometimes the friction pens will leave dark ghost marks after you iron. It does not wash out.

Correct - i should have mentioned that but i haven't had it happen often so i forgot, sorry.

Nancy, I know you have showed us the glo-tape on rulers before, but I had a question. I have used it, but when I went to measure and trim I wasn't sure exactly where to position the marker I had used. Should I put the fabric right on the line, next to the line, etc. Should I use a couple of layers? I would like a clear demonstration if you get the chance, thanks.

Hi Joan, I actually like to place it just a smidgen past the measurement i want so i am still able to use the lines and dots on the ruler for the accurate measurement. And for the lines and dots I measure with the fabric edge on the line so if i blew it up the fabric edge would be centered on the ruler line - hope that helps. Nancy

Very good as always. The mechanical pencil. Can you spell the brand of pen ( and the leads ). you find works so well on dark fabric please. Where do you buy them ?
@QuiltingWithNancy5 жыл бұрын
Hi Sue, they are Bohin and they can be purchased here - www.firesidequilts.com/module/search_content.htm?form_version=2&showSearchResults=1&search_keyword=bohin&image.x=0&image.y=0

Does anyone know how the Bohin pencil works on stretchy and soft fabrics like minky and fleece?
@QuiltingWithNancy4 жыл бұрын
Samuel, I do not think it would work on those fabrics, it is like a mechanical pencil so you wouldn't see the line it draws. I would try a wider softer chalk for those fabrics - maybe a tailors chalk took. Hope this helps - Nancy

Hello Nancy, I have seen you using fusible tape when doing QAYG. Having trouble finding anything like it in Australia. Would 1” double sided fusible stay tape be equivalent to what you use? If not, would you please give me the product name/description of what you use, please.
@QuiltingWithNancy5 жыл бұрын
Hi - the double sided stay tape would not work but if you can get your hands on a yard of light weight fusible interfacing, you can cut it in strips and then it's the same thing. The brand i use is Heat Press Batting Together or from Marti Michell Choice. Good Luch - Nancy

I won't trust the friction pens, I've just heard too much negativity about it. I will stay with my tried and true marking pens. Mark B Gone and pictogram. Love Bohin marking pensils!
