Yep. I don't get into the minute details, either. I get into whether the stone works for me instead. :)

How you liking the Gold Dollars??
@RobertOrtiz10156 жыл бұрын
Gregory Burris to be honest i used them for testing stones for the most part. I have a ton of razors on my rotation as it is therefore i only shave with them to gauge stones...

Jyst sent the snow white back. Something wasn't right!! Kept soaking up a ton of water... wasn't fine. Scratch pattern looked like my 5k.

Gregory Burris thats not good... im assuming you lap it real good prior to using it?
@gregoryburris63746 жыл бұрын
@@RobertOrtiz1015 250, 400, 600, then 1200 w/d. Nice and smooth but never got nice finish. Scratch pattern looks like a 3k or so. Going to get the fuji next to try out. Or kitayama

What grit is your lapping plate? Just curious what I should lap/make slurry with on a 8k since I have a naniwa ss 8k coming!
@RobertOrtiz10157 жыл бұрын
Its a dmt 325 thats quite worn... the atoma 400 and 600 are quite excellent as well
@magnoliamike2 жыл бұрын
I have the 3K -8k combo Naniwa works great! I Even slurry it sometimes

Would you say the Fuji edge shaves better than superstone edge ? Gary
@RobertOrtiz10154 жыл бұрын
I like it more... the stone is cheaper and thicker... now... the ss leaves a higher gloss and the edge is crisp
@garyhaywood60134 жыл бұрын
Sounds like the Fuji is finer .

does the Fuji 8k, and thud naniwa 12k pair up good together when finishing?
@RobertOrtiz10154 жыл бұрын
Ohh yes! The fuji is a very capable stone and “inexpensive “ compared to the snow white and superstone.... the superstone 8k is also a great stone prior to 12k
@michaelshults76754 жыл бұрын
@@RobertOrtiz1015 Thanks for getting back to me! Sorry does this Fuji stone have a harder type feel, meaning not like the Naniwas SS. The SS can feel like honing on plastic, they are good stones, but that's one thing I dislike.
@RobertOrtiz10154 жыл бұрын
@@michaelshults7675 Yes it feels a bit harder ... so i had all most of superstones and i agree the feel is jot for everyone. Its not as hard feeling as the chosera series but it does fee harder at least harder that superstones

@@RobertOrtiz1015e-bay purchase and the dude's in Japan. He just kept f*cking me around so I made do buy cleaning it up and honing on a half piece. It's a crazy good stone. Gives a great polish for an 8k.
